Steps to get you up and running quickly within ChannelOnline

Channel Online Training Opportunities
If you haven’t had a chance to follow this introductory training or have but would like to take a refresher course, we strongly encourage you to participate in one of our training courses to make sure that you take full advantage of ChannelOnline’s many features.

Accounts
Manage Accounts (customers, leads, prospects, and vendors) and all your contacts.

Catalog Admin
Learn how to create rules for including and excluding structured catalogs, including the use of item rules.

Company Settings
Establish how your company operates with the main features of the platform, including documents, custom fields, messaging, links, and more internal settings.

Delivery Methods
Activate common carriers like UPS, FedEx, USPS, and custom delivery methods, plus control how they are presented on the e-commerce store.

Documents
Learn how to manage the documents that you use. From quote to order, from purchase order, fulfillment to Invoice. Establish how to use reminders, sales funnel tracking, auto-generated documents, address validation, and much more.

Import & Export
Use the ChannelOnline Import/Export Wizard to handle bulk accounts/contacts, items, suppliers, and documents.

Integrations
ChannelOnline has some primary built in integrations with applications like: Autotask (a leading hosted MSP business software), ConnectWise (a major provider of Professional Service Automation (PSA) software for the IT services industry), QuickBooks Desktop, Hosted (cloud), and Online accounting packages, and Salesforce (a world leading CRM Industries platform). Please also see how to connect via our XML API.

Items Admin
Set up your own custom, service, and labor items. Additionally, create bundles, configurations, drop-in paragraphs, custom manufacturers, and custom categories. If needed, set UNSPSC codes by category, global search ranking, and make your exportable ledger codes for accounting.

Marketing
Generate coupons and promotion codes to be used on quotes, orders, and carts on the store.

Determine how you want to see your dashboards, search results, and primary language.

Organizer
The Organizer provides users a simple way of creating a Note or Task for recording documents (Quotes, Proposals, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Invoices & RMAs), account events, and business-related information. Tasks help manage complex document transactions for an individual or through assigned delegated users.

Payment Options
Activate payment options and leasing that you want to make available to your customers. After they are created, they can be enabled/disabled at the account level.

Personnel
Manage your employees, groups, and access rights for what they can do within ChannelOnline.

Price Profile
Understand how to manipulate pricing rules, the difference between a Profile and a Tier, quantity breaks, and assign suppliers for determining cost and price calculations. Plus, how to apply global price rules.

Products
Like in Items Admin, you will find more information on how to work with service/labor items and additional item attributes.

Release Notes
Read our upcoming or past release notes, detailing new features, bug fixes, and helpful tips.

Reporting / Dashboards
Various reports can be run across all types of transactional information from document, item, category, and manufacturer sales, to leads and prospects, to store site activity. Use reporting to understand what’s happening in your business.

Storesite Admin
Leverage the built-in e-commerce store site, plus a preview store for testing settings before migrating them to your store. Admin users may select layout, colors, fonts, components, and messaging for stores. Some ChannelOnline accounts will have more than one store enabled for use (contact your sales representative for additional stores).

Suppliers
Adding supported and custom product suppliers increases the breadth of products that you can provide to prospects and customers. Find out how to enable suppliers, their items, and manage contracts.

Suppliers / Import and Export
Assign or export for manipulation of your supplier-related items (when available).

System E-mails
ChannelOnline has a significant number of prebuilt email templates for document delivery, store sites, and users that can be enabled and edited to reflect your business and processes.

System Status / Downtime
Check system status and maintenance notifications.

Tax Profile
Maintain tax and e-waste selections where you conduct business across the states and provinces that matter to you.

XML
Integrate with ChannelOnline via XML for importing, updating, and exporting a variety of information. This service is often used for EPR and accounting implementations.
