Click to view the overview document, Providing Digital Product Content: Standards and Requirements. The document provides descriptions and guidance on how to submit digital images, including image requirements and specifications, data requirements, and examples, so the product can be successfully verified for recipients who require it.

Step 1: Add Verify My Product to the Account

(THIS IS A ONE-TIME STEP)

  1. Navigate to the Connections tab and ensure the recipient Verify My Product is linked.
  2. If it is not, select Add a Connection and scroll or search for Verify My Product.
  3. Once located, select the recipient, and click Next.
  4. On the next page, enable the connection to the recipient and core content type with the toggle.
  5. Click Save And Finish.

Step 2: Link Verify My Product to the Product(s)

  1. Navigate to the Products tab.
  2. Select the product that needs verification or select Create New to create a new product.
    • NOTE: When building on an existing product, ensure it is the active version of that product by matching the UPC to the active version present in the Marketplace.
  3. Once selected, click Link to Recipient.
  4. Scroll or search for Verify My Product and select both the recipient and the associated requirement set.
  5. Click Apply Link.

Step 3: Add Product Data

  1. Select the product again and click Edit or Bulk Edit.
  2. Ensure the displayed requirement set shows as Verify My Product.
  3. Complete all the required attribute fields, denoted in red.
    • Note that the product name you provide is the product name that will be used in the Marketplace. It will also be used for any publications to recipients through the products tab. We suggest your product name have the following elements in the product name as applicable:
      • Brand, Sub-brand/product line, variety attributes (color, flavor, scent, material, etc.), and size attribute.
  4. IN ADDITION, you are also required to submit the images listed below. These can be photographs or digital renders.
    1. Providing Digital Product Content
    2. [Planogram Straight on Front (with no plunge) + Digital Flat]  OR [Planogram Straight on Front (with no plunge) + individual images of all sides of the product package that contain text (Planogram Straight on Back, Left, Right, Top, and Bottom)]

NOTE: If a side containing text is omitted or the text on an image is illegible, your submission will be sent back for modification.

For items that already have Syndigo Verified Content live in the Products Tab that you would like to replace, we suggest using a Recipient Specific Override to replace the content with the new data you would like to have verified. For more information, please see our Override training.

Step 4: Publish the Product

  1. Once the readiness score reaches 100% and all required images are present, click Publish.
  2. Select Verify My Product.
  3. Click Publish.
  4. Monitor for feedback. You can review common feedback messages here. If there is no feedback, your items should reach a synchronized status to indicate it has been verified and is live in the Marketplace.

Step 5: Content Availability

The content will be made available in Marketplace in 10-15 days. HOWEVER...

  • If a side containing text is omitted or the text on an image is illegible, your submission will be sent back for modification. You can see feedback from the verification team by taking your product into Edit or Bulk Edit view and clicking the "Needs Review" or dialog buttons.
  • You can track your publication via your Publication History tab within Edit view, or via the Publication Status Tracker on the Home tab. If the team needs more information from you, you’ll see the product listed in the "Pending Action Needed" section of the Publication Status Tracker.
  • Once your product arrives in Marketplace, the Marketplace Recipients tab will show you which grocery panel recipients have received the product.

Step 6: Verified Content in the Products Tab

If you want to add your Marketplace content to the Products Tab, you can learn more about the process here!

If you have already added your Marketplace content to the products tab, you’ll see a “Syndigo Verified” label next to that content.

You will not be able to edit Syndigo Verified labeled content on its own, but it can be edited with an override. You can learn more about overrides here.

On-Hold Items:

Some products may require that they not be distributed to retailers until a certain time frame. To accommodate this need, items may be put on hold to be released on a specific date. This would allow you to access your images and data but the product will not distribute to retailers until the on hold time period ends and it automatically moves to an active product, or if it is manually moved from on hold to active. To ensure content is not released early, you must have the item in the On-Hold section in the Product Index BEFORE you publish to Verify My Product. You can click Manage Lifecycle to mark the item as On-Hold and include an end date, which would be when you want the item to be live & sent to retailers.

Best Practices:

  • Add a GTIN when publishing to VMP (not required but recommended). Submitting products to VMP with a GTIN included allows the completed product to easily match to old versions in the Product Index.
    • GTIN: A Global Trade Item Number is a unique 14-digit number registered with GS1 for a specific level of a product hierarchy. It is used to identify trade items, products, or services. For the purposes of verified items, the 14 digit GTIN is almost aways the 12 digit UPC with two leading zeroes to start. Example: 00123456789987. Please do not use a higher packaging level GTIN as the verified item’s GTIN.
  • If you have submitted an item that is pending verification and need to make a change, please do NOT republish to VMP unless the Publication Status is Pending Supplier Action OR Synchronized. If a product is republished while the status is still pending, it will restart the verification process from the beginning.
  • Minimum image requirements: Straight on Front shot and digital package flat
    • If you are NOT using a digital flat, you must include images of ALL sides of the package that contain writing.
    • Images must be 300dpi, minimum 2400 pixels on the longest edge, JPEG format preferred.
    • NOTE: A full barcode must be represented on at least one of the submitted images. If you are submitting digitally rendered images, please make sure to update the barcode in the image to correctly reflect your UPC.
  • Before publishing, you can click Manage Assets to confirm the images that are being submitted for verification.
  • Syndigo Verified images will often show an error (noted by a red exclamation point) within the Verify My Product Requirement set. This is expected, as we require images be 300 DPI, and 2400 pixels on the longest edge so that we can use them to create images that meet industry standards. Since your images are already verified and available to grocery panel recipients, nothing needs to be done until you have a change to your product data that requires the item to be re-verified.
