Submitted item not accepted - linked items, one of them not "received"

I submitted a case with a pallet linked together to Kroger. This was my first submission to Kroger. They "received" the case, but they did not "receive" the pallet. Here is the error message.

60075141426622:CIC999:Item Returned for Review:VENDOR TO RESUBMIT|The item was submitted as a publication type of INITIAL LOAD. This item is not currently active in the Kroger Family of Stores and needs to be submitted as a publication type of NEW in order to be processed

I understand what they are saying about the pallet not being in their system, I think, but I don't know how to fix it. We sell them case units. We just wanted to provide additional information regarding pallet quantities. We do NOT use "pallet" as a selling unit or price by the pallet. 

So, do I withdraw the pallet item somehow from VIP? Can I do that if they are linked? Do I unlink them in the data pool and then cancel it somehow in VIP? Could I have made the case "initial load" and the linked pallet "new item" and submitted both together as linked items? If I submit the pallet separately as a new item, how do I get them linked in VIP?

Also, we will want to provide both case and pallet information to other subscribers. Should I just enter the items for Kroger (case), and get all of those submitted and then add the pallet items and link them or will that automatically submit the pallet information to Kroger and cause the same issue?

Hello and Welcome back to our online community!

I wanted to explain first off that your hierarchy with the Pallet can be left as it is. You may choose to just publish at the case level even though it is attached to that pallet. You will be able to publish at the Pallet level and then publish at the case level to another recipient you are working with.

I wanted to confirm the hierarchy that you are attempting to publish. I wanted to confirm how your hierarchy is built, does the customer purchase a single pad? What is the customer buying from that hierarchy?

Thank you for your response. Our products are sold to Kroger as store supplies. They are not for sale to the consumer. We sell and price to Kroger by the case and they use the pads on floor cleaning and burnishing machines to clean and shine the store floors. The individual pads are not packaged for resale. There is no "consumer" unit at all. We are entering the items under class 159 for supplies. So, I had set up a case (our selling unit to Kroger) and then a pallet primarily to provide the information about pallets but not to give them a price for pallet quantities.

How do I remove the pallet from what I submitted to Kroger? And, for future submissions, how do I submit only a case to Kroger, but also the pallet linked to the case? We sell our products and price them by the case. However, many customers also want the pallet information available to enter into their system (I think some systems must require that information to set up the product.)

If we still choose to send the pallet information to Kroger, is there a way to send the pallet level as "new" and the case level as (initial load) linked together? Could we leave any pricing out of the pallet level?

Hello again, you would just publish the Case level to Kroger. The Pallet and Case comprise that hierarchy but you can choose just to publish the Case by itself. I would recommend you contact your merchandiser to see how they want you to submit.

You can republish at the pallet level as New and when you submit you will attach just the cost of the case.

Thank you, again, for the good information. Since I tried publishing the pallet and the case, the case was received and the pallet was not. How do I remove the pallet from the Kroger submission?

You won't be able to since you published the hierarchy. You will just publish at the Case level and it will show up by itselfs. The publication will only take 15 minutes or so, but you will see both.
