Hello @hcraig and welcome to our customer community. Some attributes in IM and GDSN allow for different versions including the need to provide component-type questions. What this means is if you look at the IMPD, there are some attributes with a standard version and a component version.
It is very possible to populate one of the component attribute versions accidentally and trigger validations saying you need to populate other component versions of attributes.
In the IM GUI, all you have to do is make sure the "Most Popular" playlist is enabled for your item, then scroll all the way to the bottom of the "Item Attribute Sets" on the left of the screen and click "Component Information." That will take you to the component area so you can see which component version attribute you populated.
The other way is to extract your item in question and look at the fields you populated in the extracted FUSE sheet. If you see one is marked as a component in that attribute column header, you found your culprit. You will need to unhide Row 3 of the sheet to see these values.

Hello, and thanks for reaching out to the Community. Would you be able to share example information so that we can look at it for a resolution?
