Now that the 1WorldSync Kroger Item API is live, Kroger VIP is scheduled to sunset at the end of 2025.

To avoid syndication disruption, 1WorldSync is upgrading VIP users to its Item Management platform, allowing brands to continue to set up, update, and syndicate all their product content to Kroger.

1WorldSync has already begun to migrate content from VIP to Item Management. Users will be notified when their content will enter the migration queue and when the migration is complete.

Once completed, users will log into Item Management to resume item setup, updates, and syndication (VIP will no longer be accessible).

@CommunityJedi22, thanks for the info!  We have registered for the webinar tomorrow and are looking forward to learning what's new in Kroger's world!

Since VIP will sunset by the end of 2025, I was wondering how certain attributes will transfer from the portal to IM, such as Contact Information, Regions, Kroger Sales Event, etc.

@CommunityJedi22 Is a field mapping guide available showing which specific VIP fields map to which exact IM fields? I would assume fields such as Product Description, Marketing Message, Key Feature Bullets, etc from VIP would migrate into Kroger-specific fields in IM and not overwrite the current content in those IM fields, but want to confirm.

The specified attributes have already been added to Item Management and are visible once the Kroger Playlist has been linked to that item.

This applies to all attributes in Product Introduction Kroger, and you will be able to find all of them in Item Management, as long as the Kroger Playlist is added.

The easiest option for you once you start using Kroger Item API is to add the "Kroger" Playlist in Item Management and the system will advise you which specific attributes need to be added. More details about adding and using playlists are here: 1WorldSync Playlists Video.

Most Kroger-specific attribute names will be identical in Product Introduction and Item Management. One attribute with a different name is Product is pre-priced from Product Introduction which is now Retail Price is Marked on the Product Indicator in Item Management.

Once you start using API only for your items, Product Introduction will no longer be needed (also access will be disabled) at all, so there is no risk of any PI information overwriting anything from Item Management. Hi-

I started to publish an item in 1WS that is in the Kroger portal using the GLN in the training (0838016000123).  When I went to publish, I received an error asking for the primary contact name, number and email. That information is filled out in the VIP portal.  The second item I tried to publish had an error for the "scheme"-this was also in the VIP portal.

Do we need to correct all the errors to publish to the Kroger API Certification Queue ?

Hi @jacquelinehays and welcome to the customer community. Thanks for reaching out.

Item Management API is meant to be a replacement for Kroger Product Introduction, therefore the attributes already added in Product Introduction should not be taken into consideration when submitting the items from ITem Management.

If the API has been enabled for you, please make sure you add the Kroger playlist on all hierarchy levels, solve all warning messages and publish the highest hierarchy level to the Kroger API from IM with all attributes (including those already previously topped-off in PI such as Contact Name and Email).

After rereading the email sent Monday again...it says that 1WS will be migrating our information from the VIP portal to 1WS during the month of July.  Will we be notified when you are complete?

Good afternoon team!

As our Item Maintenance Department waits our turn at using the Kroger API feature, I wanted to run something by you that just occurred to me.

Are we to assume that, once all our products are transferred from VIP to IM, we would need to update every item to accommodate Kroger's new requirements?

In the past, one image for the CASE and EACH facing the front seemed to suffice.  Now, they are requesting more with different facings.

Also, the new Marketing Messaging and Key Features are requiring from 5-7 bullet points (with a minimum of 25 characters).

I know that many of our items (if not most) will be out of compliance.

I'm just trying to stay ahead of the game. 😉

Regarding your first point, any items that were set up in VIP and have already been synced will be migrated to IM automatically and will not need to be re-synced. If any updates are required, the updates can be made directly in IM.

Regarding the image requirements, 1 image is still the minimum mandatory request, however the information availabile is slightly more detailed now and, if you do submit more than 1 image, each image needs to have a different facing.

Regarding the bullet points (features and benefits) information, while more are requested now, they can also contain product dimensions, weights, size, country of origin, warnings, instructions along with any specific item information that was not already added in the Marketing Message.

Thanks for staying ahead of the game and we will return with an update tomorrow after checking if it is mandatory to resubmit from IM the already synced items through VIP. Take care and have a wonderful afternoon/evening ahead!

We have confirmed with our team that you do not have to publish, from Item Management, the items that are already synced via Product Introduction for Kroger.

The publication of synchronised items is necessary only when changes need to be made to those items.

Hi Team, 

Please advise on the CIC response from Kroger, after  I updated the GTIN 00773479364927 based on Kroger Playlist, published it to 0838016000123 Kroger Certif. Queue:

And one more question, as per Kroger requirements, only 1 image is bare minimum - what precise image is it recommended? Case/ Open case/ Raw product/ Styled? We sell them bakery products raw & bulk in cases.

You are receiving the error in the screenshot because the regular Kroger Company GLN (0011110000019) will not accept items already topped-off from Item Management. Also, after publishing to the Kroger API Certification Queue GLN 0838016000123 and then to Certified Items for Kroger API GLN 0838016000116, you can ignore the CICs received from the previously used 0011110000019 GLN, as is the case here.

Regarding the image question, Kroger is quite flexible when it comes to what the main image should contain exactly. Here are some examples and options from their Style Guide:

I know that we can add a marketing message according to certain customers' requests, then lock it for a particular customer.

Our team wanted to know if we could do the same thing with the Key Elements (bullet points).

The Trade Item Feature Benefit fields also have an option to provide a Recipient GLN, in Item Management, same as with the Marketing Message section.
