Republishing in Item Management
What? The Republish functionality enables 1WorldSync IM information providers the ability to publish to their trading partners without having to delete publications only to just try again. It is not just publishing again.
Why? As a customer for the 1WorldSync Data Pool, you can use the “republish” functionality to re-send publications to override previous attempts and any possible Rejected CIC responses from recipients.
How? First, this works only for IM customers for items that are already published to the intended trading partner.
1) Log in to Item Management (IM) hover your cursor over Publications in the menu bar and then click Manage Publications.
2) In the Refine Search area to the left of the screen, enter the parameters needed to isolate which item(s) you would like to publish to which recipient(s). The most commonly used search parameters are your publication level Item ID and the Recipient GLN.
3) Select the items you would like to republish and to which recipients by placing a checkmark in the box to the left of each Item ID. Once you captured them all, click the green Republish button.
4) EIM will ask you to confirm whether you want to republish as New or Initial Load. Please select the best method per the requirements or any specific requests made by your trading partner(s).
Please post any questions you have in the comments area below.
Hi! I followed these steps to republish after I made a bunch of updates in Fuse file, but my distributor is still asking for a "change by refresh message". What else do I need to do to accomplish their request?
Hello @Caroline_Lahn and thank you for reaching out via the customer community. Welcome. They are probably just asking you to send an update via a Modify instead of an actual republish via Manage Publications. To send a refresh, make and change and save your site, An update will go out to any trading partner that item is already published to. If you need to just send an update without any real changes, just change the Effective Date attribute to today and Save.
Do I change the effective date attribute in a fuse file if its for more than 1 item? Can you confirm how long it takes for any changes to reviewed/accepted within IM? is it 25 hours?
Hello, if you are using a FUSE for this update, I recommend you perform an Append Operation instead of a Modify just to be safe. Do so for any GTIN that you need to send an update. For each of the GTNs that need an update, change the Effective Date in the FUSE to today, change the operation to Append, and upload. Dependent upon the recipient it normally takes up to two hours to get a response once you publish, rep[publish or send a modify to them.
Ahhh, excellent! Thanks for the clarification!! I appreciate it!
Hello, I have one item that was published several weeks ago. The status of that publication is Synchronized. I am trying to republish it to a separate retailer and cannot get the Republish button to turn green and allow the submission.
Hello @erinN and welcome to the customer community. Thanks for your question. Can you provide me the example parent GTIN that you are trying to publish so I can take a look?
Is republishing an item good use for when I'm getting an error in Product Introduction for Kroger that has to be edited in Item Management?
Example: When Kroger Item Submission Reason Code and Temperature Controlled are populated, both Temperature Qualifier Code "Trade Item is in transport to the distribution center" AND "Trade Item is being stored or handled" must be specified along with their corresponding Minimum and Maximum Temperatures.
I can't make this edit inside Product Introduction and it won't let me validate/submit without completing this step, and I don't want to withdraw the publication and push our submission back 25 hours.
You do not need to publish again to correct any attributes, you simply make the change and then save those changes. The changes should go over pretty quickly so you can validate & submit to your trading partner.
Please feel free to respond here if you encounter any further issues. I will receive a notification so I can get back to you quickly.
I submitted a withdrawal publication request for item 10082686048948, but it was rejected in the Data Sync report. It says, "publication delete - Pending Synchronization and Rejected," and mentions that a matching item wasn't found in the WM system.
I need to withdraw this item, adjust quantities, and republish to another retailer. Can you advise on next steps?
Hello @c0st8 and thanks for reaching out.
I've attached the article that provides additional information about hierarchy withdraw / delete: When Do I Have to Wait 25 Hours to Update My Item/Hierarchy?
I am also attaching an article that covers how to add links for a hierarchy: How to LINK Products in Item Management - Quick Sheets
Walmart No Matching Item Found - this article covers the CIC received from Walmart
Please let me know if this helps. Thank you!
Thank you for the resources. However, my original question was about whether all statuses will be changed after 25 hours. Will this be the case?
Hello @c0st8 and thank you for the additional details.
The Statuses will be changed only after the item has been published back as the item's last update has been the one you currently see in the portal.
Current Status Date - this will say "PUBLICATION DELETE - PENDING SYNCHRONIZATION" until the item is published back to the trading partner
Last CIC State Date - this will update once we get an updated response from the trading partner after the publication is successfully sent. Thank you.
I am trying to republish items that previously had errors. should I republish as new or as initial load. I don't know what the difference is?
Hello @ronsales and thanks for reaching out!
A ticket will be opened to provide assistance and you will receive an email with additional information. Thank you!
Thank you for the comments. I think I was able to republish the item. It is showing new. Just waiting to hear from McLane Co. if they can see the item. It was sitting in history.
Hello @irvjtodd, thank you for letting us know! That's great news.
