With the deployment of the May GDSN release, to Pre Prod only, on March 15th, 2024 we are relaxing the CIC validations pertaining to:
Message Creator GLN
Message Creator Name
CIC's sent without this information will have the IPGLN and name of the sender defaulted. This validation will be activated on March 29th, 2024. Please post any questions you have in the comments area below.
Do these attributes have alternate names? I have searched the large release IMPD document, the newest GDSN implementation guide, and other GS1 GDSN related documents. I cannot find "Message Creator", "MessageCreator" or "Creator" in any of the documents.
Are these new attributes? Where do I find reference to them?
Hello @Food_Fiend and welcome back. Let me see where that lives. We know it’s in the new CIC schema. I will get back to you soon.
following!
Hello @Keyur_Patel & @Food_Fiend I checked with our Product team this morning and we are getting these answers for you. Thanks for your patience.
Hello @Keyur_Patel & @Food_Fiend and thank you for your patience as I looked to understand where you can find these answers. We are continually updating this area to help customers prepare for the May 2024 Large Release: https://community.1worldsync.com/t5/Are-You-Ready-for-Large-Release/ct-p/LargeRelease2024
We have information on these attributes in the video on that page. If you look in GDSN docs you will see them in the attribute file under the CIC attributes. The attribute name is GLN. Then you can see the class is Creator.
Excuse me for the delay in responding. I have tried to test this in pre-prod. I registered a new item and published it to test user 7701115113021. Unfortunately, I get back a successful publication response but I did not get back a CIC message from the test user.
Please advise how I can trigger a CIC in pre-prod so I can test the impact of the new "message creator" fields.
Thank you.
Hello @Food_Fiend, thank you for following up! Apologies for our delay in replying as well. I am looking into your request and will follow up as soon as I have more details. In the meantime, could you confirm which item you tested this with?
Thanks!
Hello @Montavio,
I registered pallet/case 80014616501000/10014616501001 and published at the pallet level to test 1WS GLN 7701115113021-TRAINING GLN RETAILER. Everything went through smoothly, but I was hoping for some sort of CIC response to make sure we handle the new CIC format. Perhaps there is a better GLN to test with?
Hi @Food_Fiend, thanks for following up. Although a publication can be sent successfully to a Recipient, in this case GLN 7701115113021-TRAINING GLN RETAILER, this does not guarantee a CIC message would be sent back. This is true for non-test GLNs as well.
This is because the Retailer the GLN belongs to is responsible for sending a CIC message back. This is why there was no CIC response to your publication. A non-test GLN in Pre-Prod would need to send a response back in order to see the effects of the May GDSN Release - CIC Validation change mentioned in the main post above.
Please let me know if you have any further questions. Thanks!
@Food_Fiend- I manually created a couple of CICs for you on the item 80014616501000.
As an additional note, the new CIC attributes will not be in the IM Participant Dictionary (IM PD) as they are a different message set from what the IM PD is used for. The IM PD is related to the Catalog Item Notification (CIN).
