So what happened over the weekend? I came in today to over 700 synchronization errors (we were always 0 here) and 100 more recipient requests reviews. The sync errors seem to be some new validation? If all of following three attributes are provided, then gross weight of a Non-GTIN Logistic Unit (NonGTINLogisticsUnitInformation/grossWeight) must be greater than 96 % of Trade Item’s Gross Weight (tradeItemMeasurements/tradeItemWeight/grossWeight) multiplied by the Quantity Of Trade Items Per Pallet (quantityOfTradeItemsPerPallet).
The reviews....they seem to be a lot of walmart - Brand name needs to be in marketing. Product description needs to be over 75 characters. Those are fun. We manufacture canned vegetables. Pretty hard to extend a description of corn or sauerkraut. One example - Libby's Sauerkraut, 14.75oz can. Go ahead and extend that one out to 50 characters for me. Also, the brand name IS in the marketing statement. So, are these "validations" coming from walmart or your playlists?

Hello @jschumann and thank you for reaching out again in the community and for your feedback. Your questions are good questions which lead me to check with our Product team to ensure I provide you with the best answers. If you take a look at the Item Sync Report in IM, you see these errors are most often related to publications to DOT Foods and the values you provided for the "Logistical Units" section in IM."
This area is used for non-pallet details where you are reporting pallet values without a pallet GTIN. It looks like you repeated the Case information when providing the logistics details for the pallet. The Logistical Gross weight, for the example we looked at, should really be at least 1,989 lbs instead of the 37 lbs you indicated.
GDSN Rule 1792 and IM Rule 2841 were first discussed in the Release Notes from February 2022 and were implemented as part of this past weekend's release.
The Production Description validation is a non-prohibitive warning meaning it does not prevent a CIN message. It is actually advising you of best practices related to that attribute. The text for Product Description is often used for recipient websites for those that draw this information from 1WS. The best practice is to provide more details and does provide you an opportunity for some extended or even marketing-type details. As an example, we looked at your kraut GTIN. You could extend the description a few ways. You could change "oz" to "ounces" and could add information we can see on the label like "Crispy" and "Barrel-Aged." As an FYI, some recipients may not like the fact that you have the details from the Product Name also listed as Feature Benefits.
Our Product team attribute expert offered to meet with you if you would like to discuss in detail further to ensure you are getting answers to all your questions for these values and updates from Large Release 2022.

Why would we report a pallet value for an item that is a case? They do not necessarily order full pallets every time. This all started when we received your "suggestions" in our "recipient requests review" for the TOPCO playlist. I had reached out to Topco and they knew nothing of this logistical unit dimension stuff. I thought it was goofy because obviously, the logistical unit of a case is going to be the same dimensions and weight as the case! I believe I argued with you all then. This happened at the beginning of March and just this weekend all this other stuff happened at one time. So, I ask again - what did you change about the playlists?? It has nothing to do with Dot. Something obviously went into play this weekend. I am feeling like we are going to have to completely ignore your categories and just wait for customers to reach out to us with a problem because I am not feeling like I can count on what you are reporting. I know the attributes quite well - I am not new to this. Been doing it for over 7 years and was quite happy with 1WS. But lately - I feel let down and that I cannot count on you. I get you have "suggestions" - but then make them SUGGESTIONS in a different category! And also realize that not all products can fit into one rule or validation. That is impossible.

The attributes for Logistics Units relate to Pallets which do not have an assigned GTIN and are usually provided at the Case level. If the pallet has a GTIN, then it would be a hierarchy level on its own, similar to a Case or Each. However, without a GTIN, it can not be its own hierarchy level. Keep in mind that if you do not have nonGTIN Pallets, then you would not need to provide this information.
Recipients would like to get dimensional information on pallets, with and without GTINs. Related to nonGTIN Pallets, the logistics unit attributes and NonGTIN Pallet Ti and NonGTIN Pallet Hi can provide the same dimensional attributes as for Pallets with a GTIN. These dimensions are different from the case because the Pallet has more than a single case on it.
One of your items which we looked at had a NonGTIN Pallet Ti and Hi of 8 x 7. This means that the pallet has 56 cases on it. This nonGTIN Pallet would then need to have some version of dimensions which contains 56 cases.
You are correct that some changes went in over this past weekend. We launched the May 2022 GDSN release (GDSN v3.1.19/IM 8.28). One of the rules impacting your items is GDSN rule (1792, Item Management rule 2841). This rule is a data quality rule for the attribute Logistics Unit Gross Weight. The rule states that this attribute must be at least 96% of the sum of the gross weight of the GTIN on which the information is provided, typically the case. For this item, the gross weight of the case is 37 pounds. Since the nonGTIN Pallet Ti and Hi equates to 56 cases on the pallet, then the Logistics Unit Gross Weight needs to be at least 1989.12 pounds.
I apologize as I may have miscommunicated to Mark about your Item Sync Report. The issues are not from DOT Foods, they are from Topco. With our February release, Topco updated the recipient rules they want run for items being published to them. These rules require the Logistics Unit dimensions when the attributes nonGTIN Pallet Ti or nonGTIN Pallet Hi are provided. The rationale is to provide needed shipping information on these pallets. This information would allow Topco to build efficient shipments.
If you would like, I would be happy to chat with you directly on this.
