Item Management

If I am changing and existing items case UPC (but not the selling unit UPC), does this item need a new retailer item number set up (if working with Walmart)?

Yes, That was where I was thinking if it is replacing a hierarchy or if it were an entirely new configuration for Walmart. You answered it perfectly that once you submit that new case, then you would cross-reference with the old case.

Hello,

If you are attaching a new case GTIN to the existing UPC then you would be submitting a new hierarchy to Walmart. Are you trying to replace that existing hierarchy with the new one?

Yes.  The selling unit will remain the same.  However, the case (shipping case) will be changing dimensions by more than 20%, so we will need a new UPC for the case.  We want to replace that with the existing one.  So, will I need to set up a new item number with Walmart and then cross-reference those items?

Thank you so much for your help.

I do have a follow up question.  We would make this change via data sync.  Then would we go into "Item 360" and provide "item maintenance"?  Or would we be going into "item 360" and creating a "new item" (and then cross-referencing them)

?

I would create the new item and then cross-reference. The maintenance would be on the previous case so you would want to create the new hierarchy.
