Good afternoon,

Can someone please refresh my memory as to what the difference is between withdrawing publications and deleting publications?

Thanks!

Andrea,

Withdrawal Publication is used to withdraw a published hierarchy by performing a Publication
Delete. The difference between Publication Delete and a Withdrawal is how the recipient sees
this item flagged. If a Withdrawal is performed, it will tell the recipient they can expect to
receive data on this item again.

@Del, good morning!

In my experience, once I delete a publication, I'm just informing the customer that we no longer have this item available.

To delete the item from 1 World Sync, you need to fill out a template (which you can request from them) and submit it.

This will completely delete the item in 1 World Sync.

I hope this helps!

In relation to the difference between Withdraw and Delete:  I am Trying to Delete old publications from Mclane, and continuing to get warning notifications because the Playlist attributes are not completed.  Why are these attributes being required to be updated when we are canceling the Publication?

Your older items that were already published to McLane have never been exposed to the new validations for McLane. The moment you mess with one of your older items then the validations that are specific McLane will run against those GTIN. You will then need to make sure that the you complete those validations.

Thanks for the information although that requirement now creates hours of additional unnecessary work.

Hi Tracy,

Not necessarily more work for you but I reviewed your worklist and did not see any recent publication deletes? Do you have one so I can confirm this is the same situation? I would like to review one of your examples so I advised you properly.

If the orange warning message has the word "WARNING:" at the beginning of the error, as in the example below, then this warning message is just a strong recommendation, but will not prevent the data from flowing out to the recipient.

If the orange warning message does not have "WARNING" at the beginning, as in the example below, then that means this attribute listed in the orange error is absolutely required. As long as that playlist is active on that item and the supplier is trying to publish to that recipient, then the data will not flow until that orange warning message is resolved. Note that in the orange message below, it even says that this attribute "is required".

The conversation I had with Mclane regarding this situation was for 00041269175184.  I added the End Availability and Cancel Date in the item and received the Warning message.  When I discussed with Mclane, they told me I would need to revise all of the attributes first, then continue to cancelling.

Sorry - hit reply too soon.  If I remove the Mclane playlist when updating this info, will the warnings go away and allow me to remove the Publication?

Hi.  What happens if I delete the publication.  Is the GTIN removed from 1worldsync and I have to start over again?
