Please see the attached Kroger API Quick Sheet and post your questions below.
Hello,
I am trying to publish to the Kroger API for the first time, and I successfully synchronized the publication with the Kroger API Certification Queue. The information was then automatically published to the Certified Items for Kroger API GLN as an Initial Load, but I have not received a CIC status or IMF number for my Sales team, who have made this a setup a priority. Is there another step that I am missing? The published GTIN is 90011863126816 if thats helpful. Thank you
Hello @mosthelder, and thank you for reaching out.
As I checked the Report - Sync Status, the publication failed to send.
If an item fails to send, we can check the Item History Report, and it will show us why it failed.
The message showed - (productActivityTypeCode MADE_IN is invalid.)
We recommend correting the the information on all levels of your hierarchy for the attribute Product Activity Type Code from "Made in Country" to "Last Processing" and save it, no need for a republication.
Please let us know if further help is needed.
Hello,
We have a product in Kroger API 0838016000116 that has the below CIC message:
'The product hierarchy was rejected because it is not registered in WERCS or additional action is required to complete WERCS registration. Please log in to WERCS to initiate the required actions. Once WERCS registration is complete, you may resubmit.'
We have checked WERCS and the product registration is now showing accepted by Kroger so do we need to republish the product to Kroger API 0838016000116 for it to be resubmitted?
The published GTIN is 05057566114370.
Thank you
Hi, @Davina,
Thank you for reaching out to our customer community. Welcome!
You can opt for a Resend on the GTIN registered with WERCS, from Item Management. The Resend option is on the first row of the item > the three dots next to the Publish button. This will trigger a new synchronization of the publication. Once the Certified queue team reviews your item again, a new CIC will be sent back under the Sync Status/Recipient Responses CIC reports.
Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.
How do I update images and website content for Kroger without creating a new item form?
Hello @JoR, welcome to the customer community. Thanks for reaching out.
You can update the required information and then make sure the Kroger Submission Reason Code is left blank at the publication level (most of the times Case or Display for Kroger, but there are exceptions). The same process works for any item updates in the future if an IMF is already assigned and a new one is not needed. Thank you.
This is my first time publishing to Kroger API see below. What does this mean

Hello @ekassin23, thank you for reaching out to our customer community. Welcome.
We can recommend checking the Sync Status or the Recipient Responses (CIC) reports in Item Management to gather more information about your publications, including for Kroger API.
For GTIN 10194284094705 for example, you have the following Review message:
| Additional Status Description And Details |
| 1. 2802 WARNING: On the highest hierarchy level both Number of Layers per non-GTIN Pallet/Non GTIN Pallet Hi (nonGTINPalletHi) and Number of Units per Layer in a non-GTIN Pallet/Non GTIN Pallet Ti (nonGTINPalletTi) must be populated. |
The issue is on the Case:
The 4 and 5 should be moved from the GTIN Pallet Ti and Hi into the Non GTIN Pallet Ti and Hi, please. This is because there is no Pallet level in your hierarchy, hence the NonGTIN information needs to be populated instead of the GTIN, please. For more details about this, please see the following article: TI / HI Validations.
Also, the Count of This Specific Item in a Non-GTIN Logistic Unit/NonGTIN Pallet Quantity needs to be populated, please, and it should be the Non GTIN Ti times the Non GTIN Hi, so 20 in this case.
In 24 hours or less from publication you should also have a response from the Kroger QA team for the Kroger specific attributes for the submission. Thank you.
Hello @ekassin23, thank you for the follow-up.
Only publications to the the Kroger API Certification Queue (GLN 0838016000123) need to be resubmitted (Republished from the Publications - Manage Publications screen), please. As long as it has not been accepted (Synchronized in the Sync Status report), the publication to Certified should be stuck in Pending Sync. Within 24 hours or less from any update and resubmission, it should be checked again. Thank you.
can you please check 10194284094705 gtin to see if it looks correct the status and im just waiting?
Thank you for the follow-up, @ekassin23. No further action is currently needed for item 10194284094705 as it is awaiting review. Thank you.
Greetings,
We recently completed our migration from Kroger VIP to Kroger API (KIA). A few items were still in “In Process – Supplier” status in VIP but were submitted through the Kroger API Certification Queue (0838016000123) after the migration.
The item is now showing in Certified Items for Kroger API (0838016000116) under Review status. We received the following CIC999 message regarding this item.
| Item ID | Status Code | Status Description: | Corrective Action Code | Additional Status Description & Details |
| 10888849013002 | CIC999 | Free Form Text to be copied by Data Recipient | ACTION_NEEDED | ErrorCode:null; Error:ITEM FOUND IN SUBMITTED STATUS |
| 10888849013002 | CIC999 | Free Form Text to be copied by Data Recipient | ACTION_NEEDED | Your item has been processed for KROGER_API and sent back to you for review. Your item, identified by GTIN 10888849013002, FeedID e37a1e8d-45d4-4a09-8e79-b12191b1b64a and FeedbackID b49b90c4-21f9-4e37-927d-9c84682847b0 |
We have withdrawn this item in the VIP portal. Could you please confirm if this was the correct step? Should we re-send this item through the Certified Items for Kroger API queue, or does it need to be republished—and if so, should it be submitted as an Initial Load or New? We are still waiting for an IMF # for this item.
Additionally, moving forward, if there are other items still in progress within the VIP Portal that need to be submitted to Kroger using the Kroger API Certification Queue (0838016000123), should those also be withdrawn from VIP first before submitting them through the API process?
Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you !!
Hello @delgadtr1, thank you for utilizing the customer community. Welcome.
GTIN 10888849013002 received the IMF below in October 2025 in Product Introcution:
.
If a new IMF is necessary, the above IMF needs to be rejected by Kroger (if it has not been already), and the Kroger Item Submission Reason Code needs to be populated on the Case level of your hierarchy in Item Management, please. Alternatively, if Kroger is still using that IMF and if they intend to keep using it for the time being, no new IMF is required.
Withdrawing the publication to the Product Introduction Kroger GLN (0011110000019-The Kroger Company) is correct to avoid potential setup issues.Thank you.
Please advise us when we can download quick sheet.
Hello @Ruhua, welcome to the customer community and thank you for reaching out. We have replied in the following thread to this question, please: https://community.1worldsync.com/t5/Kroger-API/1WorldSync-Kroger-Item-API/tac-p/21866#M154.To keep everything organized and avoid duplicate messages, let’s continue the conversation in a single thread. This helps ensure we don’t miss any of your updates or replies. Thank you!
Hello,
I tried publishing 2 items to the Kroger API Certification Queue and got the following error message: PI9001=You are not enabled at 1WorldSync to send the recipient top-off data. Item is accepted but the additional recipient top-off data is not.
May you please help me resolve this?
Hello @MKokosoulis, welcome to the customer community. Thanks for reaching out.
That Review message was received from the The Kroger Company from GLN 0011110000019. When submitting items through the API, we can recommend to no longer have them published to the Product Introduction VIP GLN for publication issues to not arise because of the double submission.
The publication is, on the other hand, receiving a Reject response from the Certification Queue for Kroger API with the following message:
Once the rejection reasons are fixed, please Republish from the Publications - Manage Publications screen for the new information to be reviewed by the Kroger QA team. Thank you.
I keep getting this same message and I'm not sure what is missing as it looks like everything is set to the standard. 00875252009862 CIC Detail 1. The data received was not as expected and needs reviewed for update - (1) This item do...
My product detail has our company, trademark symbol, product name
The marketing message is about the product only with no punctuation, nothing about the company, and is 321 words.
The customer facing size is listed at 16 fl oz per the instruction.
Any insight would be most appreciated!
Hello @Angela_HSC
Thank you for using our community! Welcome!
All updates have been applied to the items. We also noticed that both the case and each were published separately, whereas only the case level is required, as the each level will flow automatically. We recommend republishing the case level only via Publications → Manage Publications to override the rejection. Please also delete each-level publication, as it is not necessary and may cause confusion.
Once the update reached the QA team, the rejected CIC should be updated with a new response.
Thank you!
Good morning,
I followed your instructions and I'm still receiving the same message. I only published the case.
There was not an option to "override" the rejection.
Hello @Angela_HSC and thank you for the follow-up. Republishing the Case is perfect, the Each is linked to the Case, so the information will flow through for both items together to Kroger once the setup is accepted.
There still are a few image issues that will prevent Kroger from accepting the publication.
The 2nd and 3rd images on the Each both have a Facing of Right. Kroger accepts up to 6 product images, all must be Type of Information Product Image and each image Facing must be unique for Kroger, please, so no two Image Facings should be the same, please.
The last 3 images have Barcode, Nutrition Fact Label, Nutrition Fact Label with Ingredients as the selected Type of Information currently. Kroger will not accept them and can only receive "Product Image" for the Type of Information. You can remove the images, or exclude the 2 Kroger API GLNs from receiving the images (using the Share With - Exclude option on the image page), or update the Type of Information to Product Image for these 3, please.
After the changes, please Republish from Publications - Manage Publications for another Review. We are here for you if anything else is needed, please. Thank you.
Thank you for the information. I updated per the instruction and republished. I am still receiving the following message:
Thank you for the update, @Angela_HSC .
The message may change either throughout the day or on Monday, once the Kroger QA team checks your item. It is still awaiting review at the moment - what to look for is the Rejected - 10th of April information, please, as this will be updated with the new date once the submitted information is verified. Thank you.
1) Is my item still being reviewed? It got rejected twice and I've published two times since then and haven't seen a change in CIC status. GTIN is 10075496000404.
2) Both times, the major issue was that the content "does not meet the Kroger PDP guidelines." I'm aware the data my business has given me isn't great and I have updated it but not being given more specific feedback is making this a very frustrating experience. Can someone tell me today what I need to do to get this to pass certification? Please?
Hello @zeez1011 and welcome back to the customer community. I am sorry to hear about your experience.
Has the item been updated since the last reject from Kroger on 16-APR-2026 at 06:11, please? If it has been updated, it also needs to be Republished as New from the Publications - Manage Publications screen. You can find more details about Republishing here: Republishing in Item Management. The most recent Republication we can see was April 15th.
Without Republishing, it will not be reviewed. Republishing is always necessary for a new review after a Rejected message. Thank you.
So I have to republish instead of just publish? Cool. More needless complexity...
I republished. The CIC status hasn't changed. What does that mean?
When can I get this reviewed? Will someone help me if it's rejected for not meeting the PDP guidelines again? I've had Sales breathing down my neck all week about this. I need help.
@zeez1011, the Republish step is needed for all retailers, not just Kroger, once an item is rejected by them.
The Last CIC State Date will update once the item is reviewed again. It may take about 24 hours. Yes, we will be here for you again if needed. please. Thanks.
Okay. You realize, though, that, in most cases, going into the item and publishing that way has the same effect, right? Apparently that's not the case here.
Are you saying it may take up to 24 hours just for the CIC status to change to REVIEW? And then how much time after that will it take for it to actually be reviewed?
Also, what do I do if this gets rejected again with the comment "This item does not meet Kroger PDP Guidelines" with no additional information? What do I do then? Do I keep going through the PDFs and guessing at what needs to be changed? I'm wasting so much time trying to figure out what you want. Can someone look at my item and let me know if it's good enough to pass certification and/or tell me what still needs to be tweaked?
@zeez1011 thank you for the follow-up.
Publishing and Republishing are different options and offer different functionality in Item Management. Republishing is used to override retailer Rejections (you can find more details here, please Override Rejections via the Republish Functionality in IM) and to override the Publication Type (New vs Initial Load), when needed.
The 24-hour timeframe is the approximate time it takes for a new submission (including a Republish) to be reviewed, so you will know if anything else is needed next then. The CIC may update to either Synchronised (if the changes are accepted and requirements are met) or continue to be Rejected if the item does not pass Kroger's checks, but the date updated to the new date of the new review.
"This item does not meet Kroger PDP Guidelines" should not come without more details about what issues are discovered during the review process. If you have any examples, please let us know and we would be delighted to assist there as well.
I have also created ticket CXTECH-112213 on your behalf in our ticketing system and we will be reaching out to assist you there and help with any issue you are encountering.
Thank you.
Good morning,
I am receiving the following rejection- I have 'corrected' this issue several time per Kroger PDP standards and it still doesn't seem to flow?
1. So the way I'm reading this comment, is it saying the "Customer Facing Size" is the issue I'm having with not meeting the Kroger PDP Standards? Does that mean everything else with the item record is passing validation?
2. What exactly is the issue with the Customer Facing Size? Am I supposed to enter it as 4 fl oz (48) because it's a 48 count case? Am I supposed to put that on both the case and the each or just the each?
Please tell me what I need to do to get this through the Certification queue today?
Hello @Angela_HSC and thank you for continuing the use of the customer community. Welcome back.
For any Rejected CICs, a Republish as New from the Publications - Manage Publications screen is necessary for the information to be checked again by the Kroger QA team. The most recent Reject was as follows: REJECTED---10-APR-2026. This means that any updates since then have not yet been taken into consideration. We can see a Republication was submitted on Friday, so this should be checked again soon for you.
We are here for you if anything else is needed, please. Thank you.
Hello @zeez1011 and thank you for continuing the use of the customer community. Welcome back.
1. Yes, please, you are making a great point here. The only issue pointed out was for the "Customer Facing Size" information. Everything else is passing the Kroger QA checks for now.
2. Usually, adding the value suggested in the Reject message will result in your item passing the next check. This is because the items are analyzed thoroughly and the Kroger QA team also assists with suggestions/ examples of how to fill out the required data, where applicable, to ensure it passes validations. The attribute is necessary at the Each (consumer unit) level of your hierarchy, please. It can be added on the Case as well, but it will not be verified or the publication Rejected because of the Case.
Please let us know if anything else is needed and we would be happy to assist where necessary.. We are here for you. Thank you.
Thank you for the information. This is what is showing on my end on the Manage Publications- it's showing a Failure-sending to subscriber. Does this mean I need to republish? Is there something I need to do on my end? I appreciate all of your help!
@Val Thanks, although I'm confused why I need a count on package at the each level when a) the bottles are sold as individual items and b) the bottles are sold in more than one packaging type. I can use what's suggested to get this to pass but it makes no sense.
Hello @Angela_HSC and thank you for the follow-up.
On the Each level of your hierarchy - 00875252009862 - please remove the Kroger Product Introduction GLN from the Recipients field and add "ALL" instead:
This was preventing the item from flowing through as intended. While the Kroger QA team will still be able to access the information as they can use Item Management directly, it may cause issues later and not update on kroger.com as intended.
Thank you.
@zeez1011, yes, you are correct, this can be a very confusing process sometimes. What Kroger is looking for in their PDP Guidelines is to add requirements for consumer units, so the items sold in the stores to the customers. The Playlist is also needed on Cases/Displays/Pallets or the packaging or logistical units in general, but Kroger will not check to see these items against their Guidelines, unless those Cases are consumer units (usually they are not, and in your case here, it is not either). Thank you.
Good morning,
I corrected the item as stated previously, "On the Each level of your hierarchy - 00875252009862 - please remove the Kroger Product Introduction GLN from the Recipients field and add "ALL" instead:" and I'm still getting a failure to send. Depending on where I look such as Manage Publications
or the Sync Exception Report,
and the Sync Status Report, I have different error messages.
Is my item still being reviewed? Is there still something to be corrected and updated?
Thank you
Hello, @Angela_HSC, and welcome back!
The error message on the Failure ,"Error is 00875252009862: R02063: 6 "Product Images" - Exactly 1 Required Primary Front and up to 5 additional UNIQUE Facings ( Back, Left, Right, Top, Bottom).;" , has to be cleared for the REPUBLISH to process.
There are currently two FRONT images being sent on 00875252009862: one uploaded in DAM and one listed as an External Digital Asset. We recommend removing all image information sent as an external asset by following the steps:
1. On the Playlists row, click the All Populated playlist to activate it first
2. then go to the External Digital Assets attribute set and make sure to blank out all the fields provided here
3. then click Save
The REJECT CIC message in the Sync Status report is from 10th April. If all error messages in the CIC have already been addressed and the item REPUBLISHED, only the error image above will have to be fixed next.
Thank you
Hi. I got my item through. Just one more question for my own knowledge: if I need to make updates to the item in the future (change images or marketing copy, etc.), will I need to republish to the certification GLN?
Hello @zeez1011, and thank you for reaching out.
The only time you would need to republish is when the Kroger CIC message = Reject.
So, for an item update, you can just save the item and wait for the data to update.
Hope it helped. Let us know if further questions arise.
It looks like some of our republished items worked but we corrected all the errors. Now we have a new one and I am not sure how to correct it.
Hello @SalesAdminST and thank you for utilizing the customer community. Welcome.
You are receiving the error because the Model GTIN error because an item should not be a model for itself, please. Here is the attribute definition:
The attribute should be used if a similarly priced and distributed item is already fully set up with and marked as Synchronized by Kroger, please. Otherwise, please leave the Model GTIN Exists as False and the Model GTIN field blank. Thank you.
