Hello! We have some important updates to share about our upcoming eNewItem portal update, and the changes it will make to our new item creation/submission process.

 

 

When are these changes taking place?

 

  • The new system is scheduled to go live at the end of August, after a transition period of system downtime:
    • Thu 8/26 – Deadline to create new items through the current process
    • Fri 8/27 to Mon 8/30 – Application unavailable/scheduled maintenance
    • Tue 8/31 – Application back up, updated Submit Item Proposal process live
  • Specific impacts for GDSN suppliers:
    • The deadline to publish new items for creation via the current process will be Thursday 8/26 at 4pm CDT.
    • Any NEW publications we receive after this deadline will wait in our system to be submitted via the new process when the updated eNewItem application goes live on Tuesday 8/31.

 

 

What's changing?

 

  • The Submit Item Proposal process will now be integrated with the Create Item process.
    • New items can be submitted in our portal immediately after they're published to us as NEW. (No more need to wait 3-4 days after publishing before submitting.)
  • Published items which omit mandatory attributes will need to have those attributes "topped off" in eNew Item, as part of the item creation process.
    • Please be sure you're coordinating your new item creation efforts with the people who submit new items in our portal on behalf of your company - they will need your input to fill in those missing attribute values!
  • The "CREATED" emails you receive today will be replaced with "RECEIVED" emails.
    • Corp codes will no longer be provided in these emails, since they can only be obtained after the item creation process is completed in our portal.
  • Your new item will not be processed in any way until an Item Proposal is submitted!

 

 

What's NOT changing?

 

  • If you don't currently log into our eNewItem portal, you don't need to request that access.
    • Someone on your company's behalf is already submitting your items to us there today - that will continue to be true after this release goes live.
  • Our system will continue processing all Initial Load, Modify, Correction, Delete, and Hierarchy Withdrawal publications just as it does today.
  • Our system will continue receiving and processing incoming New publications before, during, and after this transition.
    • Only the processes for submitting those new items to us afterwards will be changing.
  • Continue publishing to all UNFI / SUPERVALU GLNs you're publishing to today.
    • We're still on track to move to one GLN before the end of 2021, but that transition isn't taking place yet.

    • It goes thru the details of what's changing for our supplier portal users, and also includes some details related to Data Sync.
