Spreadsheet uploader

Questions about spreadsheet uploader and exporter on Kroger VIP.

1. Can you skip adding items to the 1 World Sync side and publishing them? Can you just add new items directly into Kroger VIP using a spreadsheet for items already submitted and accepted?

2. I was able to export my data and we are a GTIN customer. My excel sheet didn't have any columns to be changed or filled out. I successfully added the products with the spreadsheet using the append comment and not add because i had already got them set up in 1 World Sync.  However, I still had to go back in and change color of item, pricing, design code, and a few other things. How do I get a spreadsheet to export that I can make all adjustments on and reload?  Or maybe you have to still go in manually?

I have also already watched the video

Thank you,

Devon

Hello,

Yes you can bypass adding items directly in Item Management however, we do not advise this. We suggest adding items in your data pool first as it will ensure the item validates against the GDSN Standards before publishing AND it also allows you to publish this item to any GDSN recipient however, when creating them directly in Product Introduction they're only available to Kroger.

Next, typically information directly on your Hierarchy Data Page will have to be edited manually. But, to create a sheet closest to the attributes you'd like to change we suggest correcting the item fully in Product Introduction THEN exporting the item onto an excel to use as a guideline for any additional items.

Hi again @devonparish great question. Below is a link to our FUSE Quicksheet information. Using this you would basically create a template from an already-created item to then be able to add new items into Item Management.

Hello,

I decided to bypass adding items directly in item management. We only have one GDSN recipient so we are fine with them only being available to Kroger. I was able to export a spreadsheet yesterday of an approved item size medium, adjust that spreadsheet and upload it for L-2x. I was not able to add because I am a GTIN provider and could only choose append. I was able to do it with the append.  It worked and Kroger said items approved. I tried today with a larger batch of items and I am now getting the error:

  • PI8201 : Item 10194557759577 is not currently in the system, so it cannot be modified. Note: Only items with target market ‘US’ are accessible within SDL. This item will not be processed.

Now when I make any changes and upload it, it just says uploaded with no processed or fail status.

Any tips or tricks would be great to get a large amount of data entered and approved.

Thank you!

Hello @devonparish and thanks for the follow-up question.

Items published from Item Management are GDSN while GTINs created directly in PI are considered NON-GDSN. This will determine the type of SDL file, GDSN vs NON-GDSN, when exporting an item.

Please make sure that you are using a NON-GDSN Spreadsheet to create new items in PI. This will allow you to choose "ADD" as the Operation and create the new GTINs. A GDSN SDL file will only allow you to update existing GDSN items using the APPEND operation.

For NON-GDSN items, you would have to create at least one item with the same Family Tree Class code as the ones you want to create in bulk, then export it to generate the NON-GDSN  file. Additional information on how to create a NON-GDSN entry can be found here:
https://community.1worldsync.com/t5/VIP-Only-Training/101-Basic-Non-GDSN-Item-Entry-in-Product-Intro...

If you already have such an item under Products > Entered items, you can choose to export it and then copy over the information you've already provided in the GDSN file you've been working on.

I hope this helps and please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you. I watched the 3B video. Do you have the next video that shows how to use the spreadsheet uploader? This video showed how to set up items manually.

Thank you,

Devon

Thank you and please let me know if this helps.

Ok so I believe we have a GDSN set up meaning we have to use the data pool and get products published first correct?  Non-GDSN people can upload directly into Kroger VIP correct?

Hello @devonparish thanks for following up in the Community. Correct your company is using GDSN so we would strongly recommend publishing to Kroger through your data pool.

Thank you for that information. I know how to upload a spreadsheet on the Kroger VIP side, but is there a way to upload a spreadsheet on the data pool side before publishing?  Right now I am cloning products but is there a way to upload a spreadsheet of the products to speed up the process?
