Hi Community Team,
I hope you're doing well. I wanted to get your opinion on something. Do you think it's possible to use the same UPC for a different flavor of the same product, or would Kroger likely have some issues with that?
Your insights would be super helpful. Thanks a lot!
Best, Uldana

Hello! Welcome to The Community. A (Global Location Number) GTIN can only be used one time per item. This also means the UPC can only be used one time as well. The UPC (Data Carrier Type Code) is what specifies the barcode in which is on each item and scanned in stores by both Consumers & Recipients.

Is there are any documentation that I can use to share with my team?
Thank you very much,
Uldana

Hello @uldana27 Yes there is but your questions really relate to GS1 standards which GDSN and 1WS support. The GS1 GTIN Allocation rules discuss when a new GTIN/UPC is required and a change of flavor is included as a mandatory new UPC.
