What to do If 'Each' isn't the selling Unit?

Hello,

Many of our items my company sells do not have the "each" as the selling unit.  We sell either by the case or by the inner pack.

When setting these up, do I still need to input the information for the each within the hierarchy with a GTIN?

For example, one of the products we sell are straws.  Do I need to set up an individual item page for the individual straw (not selling), the Inner (our customer is selling this to the end consumer), and case (unit we sell to our customer)?  Or do I just need to set up the Inner and Case? Or just the case, since that is what My company is selling?  Would I label the Inner as the 'Each' ?

Thank you in advance!!

Hello John! Welcome to the Community. If your "Inner Pack" will serve as your "Consumer Unit" and "Lowest Level" of the hierarchy an "Each" unit is not mandatory. However, if you choose to create an "Each" level for the weights & dimensions, and attributes of a single straw or any other item you do have the option of doing this as well. Thanks!

Hello,

I have a similar issue. It was discussed during the training session.  Example: Can of Coke  (customer can sell a individual item), We have 4 six packs per case (not sell individual six pack to our customer, but customer will most likely sell six packs), and we sell the customer a case.  I was told to use the inner pack for the six pack.  Tried to create an inner pack but the pull down menu did not have the inner pack.  Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong location when creating a new item.

Respectfully

Hello @IEBrewery welcome to the Community. With what you are describing under Product Type you would want to choose the Package option, which would equate to Inner Pack.
