Hello @cochoa and thank you for reaching out via our customer community.  Welcome.  I am sorry you are lost but let's see if we can help.  I am going to assume you have a customer that is requiring that attribute value.  I want to make sure you know that we created the IMPD to help with definitions and other details for all GDSN attributes.  Click HERE to take a look and keep that link handy as it updates with our releases.  

Per the IMPD, on the IM Participant Dictionary tab and filtering column C by that attribute name, here is what I found:

Thank you! Used to inform the buyer if the product varies by quantity or amount. - My product is a 5oz carton that never changes in size. So this should be false?

It sounds like your item would not need to be marked as a variable one.  I am glad this helps.
