Publish a large number of items

nj73
Contributor

Other than a few items for Kroger, I am trying to publish my first large list of items to a recipient that is on my subscription list. However, when I check all except a few boxes for the items to publish, then click on the Publish button, I cannot pull up the recipient in the dialog box. Is there a different way to do this for a large number of items? Why can't I pull up the recipient that is in the subscription list? It is Imperial Dade in this case and there is another one that I will need to do the same thing.

Thank you.

Thank you @nj73 for the follow-up. "Initial Load" it is then.

Yes, please, you can use Modify in FUSE to remove the Ti and Hi from the GTIN and add into the NonGTIN fields and also add the Count of... in the same step. We are here for you in case you encounter any other issues, please. Thanks.

Hello @nj73 and thanks for the continued use of the Community. Leaving all of the TI HI fields blank would not be an issue.

Hello @nj73 and thank you for the follow-up and for continuing the use of the Community. Welcome back.

I can confirm the items were published successfully to and received by Imperial Dade, GLN 0895415000000, as Initial Load. It is now up to the retailer to verify the information and make sure it corresponds to their standards. No updates have yet been sent back by the retailer after the publications.

The recipients' responses policy can vary from one retailer to another. Some retailers will provide detailed feedback about what needs to be rectified if something is not set up as requested by them, while others may not provide any feedback at all and, as long as the items were published and received, they are also set up with them.

Thanks. Happy Friday!

Hello @nj73, thanks for continuing the use the community. Welcome back.

There are two main options you can use to publish a large batch of items. You can either use Item Management directly of the Graphical User Interface or you can use Excel - FUSE - to publish your list of items.

From Item Management, you can publish either from the Items - Publish Items screen or by running an item search and then filtering for the items you need to publish only or selecting those items only.

Let's say you would like to publish Cases only in one batch:

In the pop-up window that comes up after you click on Publish, you can either start typing the company name or the retailer's GLN and choose the appropriate option. In the example below I highlighted the Kroger - Product Introduction GLN - as an example only:

If the issue persists, can you please let us know which GLN you need to publish to so that we can make sure we can find the retailer?

You can also check this video for more details about How to Publish and Confirm Sync Status from Item Management and this PDF for more details about using FUSE to mass publish your items: 201 Advanced: Item Management Mass Upload with the Load Sheet (FUSE) Workshop - page/slide 31 especially.

I hope this helps. Thank you!

Thank you for this information. I will try it soon.

@Val_P, this seems to be a good alternative to using the FUSE!

I was looking at the filter section and saw that, besides filtering by CASE, we can also filter by GPC, Brand, etc.

Very cool!

Good morning @nancyVigo, it is always great chatting with you.

Yes, please, the Advanced Search filters in Item Management can come in very handy, depending on what tasks you may need completed, to filter for specific item types or information within your Catalog. Depending on your needs, you can then also export the results of the filtered search as FUSE if there is a long list of items you or your colleagues need to update.

Thank you.

I found the recipient and just published the items to them. I got this warning message:

Publication Type : InitialLoad

I am a little confused. I did the Ti/Hi in the GTIN lines as all of them have a GTIN. There is only one level for each item. We are not doing any additional levels/hierarchies. Is this warning something the I need to be concerned about? Will this hold up the data being published to the recipient? Thanks.

I don't understand the messages I am getting in the reports resulting from publishing. They seem very vague, and I am not sure what to do or if I need to do anything. Thanks for your help.

I got this message in the sync status report:

I got this message in the recipient responses report.

Hello @nj73 , thanks for continuing the use the community.

I have reviewed the issues you mentioned, and the reason you are receiving the error, is because it is asking you to add the NON-GTIN Pallet TI/HI. The GTIN Pallet TI/HI is required when you have created an item in Item Management for the pallet on which the items will be placed.

So, I need to move the Ti/Hi information from GTIN to non-GTIN on over 600 items, correct? Is this error preventing publishing to the recipient or will it be an update that will publish automatically when I make the change?

Thank you for clarifying this for me.

Hello @nj73 and thank you for the follow-up.

Yes, please, if the publication levels of your hierarchies are not Pallets, then the Ti and Hi need to be added under the Non-GTIN fields. We also have an article here covering this topic in more details: TI / HI Validations. Please also add the Count of This Specific Item in a Non-GTIN Logistic Unit/NonGTIN Pallet Quantity attribute as this represents the total number of dispatch units on a Pallet (so its the Ti multipled by the Hi).

Because these were publication errors, your items will need to be published again, please, for the information to be received by your retailer(s). For the publication type, in general you need to Publish your items as New instead of Initial Load the first time around, unless specifically told otherwise by the retailer. Thanks!
