Platform Type Code

I am trying to add a Consumer Unit. It's an 8 oz retail unit. They playlist required me to enter "Shipping Container Quantity Description". I entered 12 for that, as 12 units come to a case. This then forced me to add Packaging Type Code and Platform Type Code.

For Packaging Type Code, I selected Cup/Tub/Bowl.

What do i put for Platform Type Code?

And does any of this make sense if i am just trying to a a Consumer Unit?

@EricH1

I want to confirm that Albertsons is the recipient you are trying to publish to. The Food and Beverage Products is the playlist that is triggering the Shipping Container Quantity Description.

The Food & Beverage Playlist will require that you populate the Shipping Container Quantity Description. You could choose to remove the Playlist and the validation would go away. The question is whether or not your recipient will require that value. The playlists were created to make sure you can provide the basics for that recipient, product type or product group.

Hello Eric! Welcome to the Community. Yes, this all makes sense. A Packaging Type Code is a

valid value for the type of package or container of the product. Used in conjunction with the Packaging Material to provide information to the buyer on the type of product packaging for business processes such as space planning, supply chain processes, and recycling processes. Used in conjunction with the Packaging Material to communicate packaging type to the consumer.

A Platform Type Code is a valid value for the type of pallet that the unit load is delivered on. Used by the seller to communicate to the buyer the type and size of the pallet. Used by the buyer for handling, storing, and moving. The buyer determines the type of equipment suitable for transporting the pallet or dolly in the warehouse based on the pallet/dolly size and type.

Typically a Platform Type Code is required on a larger level of the hierarchy like the "Case", "Pallet", "Display", etc. Would you please provide the GTIN you are working on so that I may verify the initial attributes populated?

Thanks for the response! Here is the GTIN I am working on. This is a Consumer unit. 00850000189034

OK. Thanks. Maybe I will remove The Food & Beverage Playlist and see what happens.

Hello @EricH1, I no longer see the error regarding Platform Type Code.

Were you able to clear it? Thank you!
