Kroger E-Commerce Description

This field is not editable in the PI platform. Is there a reason for this?

Kroger is asking for seasonal updates to the E-Comm description meaning a Year round item will be updated 3-4 times a year to add a seasonal language to the item.  I can manage this though IM by changing the recipient from ALL to Kroger on the update, but the sales team would prefer to own this in the PI platform.

Example: for Jan - Feb the item will be GHIRARDELLI Intense Dark Chocolate Squares, 92% Cacao Valentine's Chocolate , 4.1 Oz Bag

March - June it will be GHIRARDELLI Intense Dark Chocolate Squares, 92% Cacao , 4.1 Oz Bag

July - Dec it will be GHIRARDELLI Intense Dark Chocolate Squares, 92% Cacao, Holiday Chocolate, 4.1 Oz Bag

Good morning.  The updates cannot be done in VIP if it's a GDSN item. You would utilize IM and, if it's a specific description, should use RDD data as you mentioned. Otherwise, you can work with the Kroger Digital Item Setup team - digital_item_setup@kroger.com. Using IM/VIP is preferred, however, and should be the option selected by suppliers.

@credcat7, I understand so that is why I sent this to our Product team as an enhancement request.  The discussion I mentioned with our standards SME was to let you know that it is a GDSN attribute and as such, additional check and balances are needed if we make a change like that.  I will keep you posted.

Great question, I am checking on this for you...

One more Kroger specific question:  In PI the attribute Diet Type code has a drop down value for "No Special Diet Code"  but that value is not in IM as an option.  This means that we need to select it in PI after publication.  Can IM be updated to include the "No Special Diet" value so that would flow into PI ?

Regarding your follow-up question, @credcat7, I sent this to our Product team for further consideration.  I checked with our standards subject matter expert as this is a value for a GDSN attribute.  We could try to add a value, but it likely would not pass as you should only need to state when a diet type applies.  With that said, we are looking into this for you.

My sales team identified this as a field that REQUIRES a value for Item Set Up, so she is required to provide the No Special Diet Code value .  I just feel like if it is a valid value in PI it should be also in IM for consistancy and efficieny in efforts. I am trying to populate as much as I can in IM to minimize the top off data required on the PI side
