Data Request

When a company wants to receive a new publication from my company, is there a way to for me to know about the request in IM?

I am not asking about a subscription. In the current example I was told that Performance Food Group had requested we publish data for a specific item. They do have a subscription to our GLN. I do not see a way to know if a subscriber is requesting a new publication. It is totally possible they do not understand what they are saying, (but sometimes I don't either!!) I just want to be sure I am not missing something.

Hello and thank you for another great question.  Typically, based on my experience, these requests for publication would come from your trading partner via non-gdsn channels, perhaps your sales or marketing teams.  Then you would complete any requirements they have before they will subscribe and once complete, with the subscription in place, you can publish as is appropriate for your item and trading partner.

So sorry I didn't think that through and will be more aware of that moving forward

Jezebel, I am recommending you try using the Foodservice playlist (direct).  Please find the most recent copy of the PFG guide that I have,  If anyone has a more recent one than this, please advise...

OK GOOD!!! So I get the heads up that we have a request for publication and I know what the item is and am prepared to add the item to IM. In the case of Performance Food Group, they are not using 1world sync and I do not see them in the Find a trading partner menu. How do I know what their requirements are??? If I ask them I am sent a form letter with no specific info. There is no playlist for PFG. I feel like I am expected to know and even the company I am asking doesn't know how to answer the question.

I have had a ton of requests lately from PFG.  They work through Syndigo but the GLN I was directed to publish to is 0806795000009.  on their email requests you have to select SUBMIT MY PRODUCT INFORMATION and once you do it takes you to a Syndigo page that says

Thank you, you can now publish this product with your GDSN provider.

Performance Food Group

GLN: 0806795000009 Questions call 855-796-3446

I just use my McLane playlist as a SOP when someone doesn't provide requirements and see if it goes through.  But since PFG isn't in the IM platform you can't get any CIC reports they all just show as REVIEW.

That was VERY helpful!  Thanks so much!

this identified the need for Calories from Fat data Nutrition Panel 1 Nutrient Calories from Fat (ENERPF) is required for Food products and Nutrient Format Type Code Reference does not contain US_FDA_NFP_2020 (Current Label).  I don't see that attribute available or am I missing it?

You have replied to another person in the thread an now you guys are talking about their issue and no response to my question, thanks.

So sorry I didn't think that through and will be more aware of that moving forward

@Jezebel, I apologize for missing your question in this chain.  It is a good question.  Each recipient, whether they use 1WS or another data pool, typically offers an Implementation Guide that lets you know their requirements and preferences for attributes and publication type.  Please let me know if you do not have their guide.

Since they are a Foodservice recipient, it is likely that you will capture most of their attribution requirements if you use the Foodservice playlist on IM.  Using that playlist and knowing what they need from their guide should help a lot.  Let us know here where you have additional questions and any gaps and we are all happy to help where we can.
