Inner Pack or?

I have a trade item, it is a 45lb case of fish. it is a bulk item and is sold only as a 45lb. case. Inside it has 3/15lb boxes of fish called shatter packs. Their purpose is for ease of thawing. They are NOT sold as eaches and do NOT have a GTIN.

I did not and was not planning to make a child item for this. Do I have to?

I put 3 for Quantity of next level items and Inner pack, but it is coming back with this error:

Error / Warning status

gdsn202 : Your parent and child direct link quantities should match your parent Item Quantity of Next Level Item(s) (totalQuantityOfNextLowerTradeItem)

Should I just put 1, am I over thinking this??

Hello,

I was only using the fact that they are not actual GTIN and your are not recognizing them as such. The Quantity of Next Level Item would reflect if you were using GTIN numbers to designate them. I might check in with your trading partner but if you did not have GTIN on a bulk pack then you wouldn't need to recognize them in the hierarchy.

Hello, if you are not recognizing the three packs with GTIN, then you will need to use a "1" in the Quantity of Next Level in order for the validations to be met. You are also to review the GS1 US standards on GTIN use if you require research any further.

If I have items inside a case that are non-GTIN items, do I use inner pack? What is the actual difference between Inner Pack and Quantity of Next Level Items?

OR do I not need to acknowledge that the non-GTIN items are there?
