GTIN Management Standards

@CommunityJedi22

Need confirmation on the GTIN Management Standards

Scenario:  SKU 12345 (2/1 gallon product) is getting a new case shipper and the dimensions (length and width) are changing by more that 20% (there is no change to the item inside).  Per the decision tree/GTIN Management document, a new GTIN is required. Is a new GTIN only needed for the Case or also the Each (1 gallon jug)?

Also, if we decide not to change the GTIN, are their validations built into IM to prevent the change from saving because the change is over 20%?

Thanks!

If you case dimensions are changing by more than 20% then you need a new case GTIN but the each can remain the same.

@lvanhouten No, it is really for all GTINs that change over time...

if your consumer unit is not changing but your parent is, you would not have to create a new GTIN.  There really are no hard validations if you change your item in less than 20% increments over time but some trading partners do monitor this closely.  Best practice is to create the new GTIN for the item or level that changed more than 20%.

@CommunityJedi22 - does the 20% rule only apply to the consumer unit?
