Deleting publications

I have to delete item to update the hierarchy data - (completely forgot about the best practice to withdraw vs. delete since i will be publishing the GTIN back out after updates) Is this what I should expect to be seeing on a worklist for these items, if I read it is seems like it deleted the publication but then it indicates something about an initial load processed. I'd like to be sure that these are deleted and I can begin the 25 hour wait to upload new data.  Also do I have do complete a link delete in IM ( an old process in IBM Sterling as part of deleting publication to sever existing links)

Hi Cathie,

I wanted to clarify if you made the publication delete on the IBM side or in Item Management? I want to make sure we are looking at the same information. We can establish a service desk ticket to work on this or you can provide the GTIN number if you feel comfortable sharing it on the board?

we no longer utilize IBM tools and are working only within item management

That's awesome and welcome to utilizing Item Management!

You will be able to reconfigure that hierarchy once the 25 hours lapse. The Initial Load was the publication type that was deleted.

You should have no troubles with managing the hierarchy since you deleted the publication on Friday.

My items were deleted.  I exported the items and updated a FUSE report with the new hierarchy data. I imported it as a modify.  But the hierarchy link still shows the old quantity and won't let me change it.  Event though the GTINs show the new value

Credcat7, regarding the FUSE you uploaded, when you look at the links tab, did you have it setup to remove the links?

I didn't take any action on the link tab.  I assume I should not upload the file with no action on the Item tab (No Modify,Add,Append) but on the link tab on this upload I should Delete the links for the items?

Is there a flow chart or process description of this  - - i am missing an integral step and the item just won't let me update anything in IM

OK I think I have now
1) Delete publications via IM
2) wait 25 hours
3) export file with item hierarchy
4) on the item tab MODIFY IMPORT the items with the corrected data and on the SAME IMPORT Delete the link and select IMPORT
5) Finally Import the file with no modificattion on the Item tab but ADD Import the new links

6) now I can republish the items with their new links the the trade partners
