Hi,
Please explain how Base unit is different from Consumer unit? If Consumer unit would be the item with the UPC code that the consumer is buying, how is this different from Base unit? Any examples would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hello, JWC. Thank you for reaching out via the customer community. Let me start by apologizing as I was sure I saw someone responded to your question but see here there is not one. Your Base unit is the lowest level in your hierarchy and often is a consumer-level unit. Your consumer unit could also be on higher levels of a hierarchy like a Case, Pack, etc. If you have a 12-digit UPC or EAN 13 on your product in question, those are scannable at the point of sale and likely your consumer units. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello,
In Foodservice, its common our case is the base unit however the units inside are clear frozen bag of pasta with no UPC code and not sold at the consumer level. Sold to Restaurants by the case. I hope this helps.
