UMA admins sometimes ask our tech support team for guidance on adding users as Brokers in UMA. Let's take a look at some best practices to help admins understand some of the common errors and how to avoid them.
First, please remember that in UMA, the Login ID should be an email address. Also, remember that an email address can only exist once in UMA. Lastly, there is an additional field for the email address. Let's look at the screen capture below for adding users in UMA. Although I do not show it here, please make sure you populate all values that you can for your users. You can see the Log In ID and the Email Address fields.
When adding brokers to your GLN in UMA, you are providing them access to 1WorldSync tools. Often, a broker's email address is different than the one for your company and that is ok. The most common issue admins encounter is when they add the broker email address to the Log In ID field, they get an error that the email already exists. This happens when another company has already added that same broker email to their own GLN. How do you get around this? Simply amend their email address for the Log In ID and use their actual email address in the Email Address Field.
For example, if the broker's email is communityjedi@1worldsync.com and it already exists, change it to something like communityjedi1@1wordlsync.com or communityjedibroker@1WorldSync.com. Then, in the Email Address field you would enter their actual email address so they get password updates, etc. This provides you with a workaround for broker access to your GLN.
If you have any questions or would like more examples, please post in the comments below. I hope this helps.

Hello, Is it possible to set up a broker to have limited access by product group?
Hello, and thanks for reaching out to the Community. It would depend on the application you are looking to set the broker up in. For Product Introduction, you would only be able to set if they are able to view only or be able to modify. This would be done by clicking on Manage Role(s) under Service Offering Selections for Product Introduction.
And then choosing either Entry or Read-Only.
The following Community article goes over the different options for Item Management.
Have a good rest of the day and weekend.
