Customers synchronizing with DOT Foods sometimes encounter error messages indicating DOT is looking for one or more of the image types listed below.  DOT requests customers to contact them directly to resolve these issues/requirements as some of them are not completed via current GDSN attribute valid value availability.

Error Messages:  At least one item in the hierarchy must contain the following field(s):

  • Has Required Images.
  • Has Case Image.
  • Has Open Case Image.
  • Has Each Image.
  • Has Raw Image.
  • Has Lifestyle Image.

As you received feedback from DOT on how to resolve these, please post what you learned before for future reference for you and your peers encountering the same errors from DOT Foods.

I have reached out to DOT Foods, they were able to send me a list of items that didn't have the images that they require. They did tell me that if images aren't named correctly that it will reject them on their end. I also noticed that they weren't receiving updates that were made years ago so I had to change the Product Information effective date to push the changes through.

As far as receiving those errors DOT Foods is now requiring those 5 images for each product.

Good afternoon,

I reached out to DOT on this and below is her reply:

This is a “soft” error – meaning you can publish an item without an image.  It is just letting you know we require 5 specific images, named specifically by the GS1 file naming (attached).

If you already have images on the item, you go into the edit metadata screen. Scroll down to the Digital Asset Attributes section, click the image state code drop down list and make the selection.

Hello,

Welcome back to the Community! Yes, this is correct for both. The warning message will not suppress or stop the flow of the initial publication. Lastly, you are correct again the Image State drop-down to complete the type of image they are requesting can be accessed by those steps as well.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I've found the replies to the DOT Foods & Images very helpful (though being dated with 2024).

I followed all the instructions, it was good until I stopped at the request of Each image:

GTIN:00773479064988 At least one item in the hierarchy must contain the following field(s): Has Each Image.

In the drop-down menu there isn't any option like Each: (BTW, I tried different options to see if it would work, naming accordingly - it didn't)

Please could anybody suggest anything in this situation? Why Each? How it can be named in other way?

Thank you in advance!

Hello @Kateryna and thank you for continuing the use of the community. Welcome back.

Specifically for item 00773479064988, you can try Out of Package Image for the 2nd Product Image. If the retailer still does not accept the submission, we will also research this further on our end how they need Case images to be submitted when there is no Each linked to the Case. Thank you and please let us know if the issue persists.

Hi @Val_P ,

Thank you for assistance. 😊

Proceeded as suggested. Re -published the item to DOT Foods, waited for a couple of hours for the system to update.

Unfortunatelly, the situation remains the same:

Maybe you have any other suggestions?

Hi @Kateryna, thank you for the follow-up and update, much appreciated.

I was checking a few more details about the item submission and noticed it was most recently updated at 08:24:16 and the new Review message from Dot Foods was received at 08:36:10, so very shortly after. It is possible this is an automated message. The reasons could be either the hierarchy only has a Case level, therefore no Each image is provided, or an actual image setting is triggering the Review.

Do you perhaps have a contact at Dot who could confirm whether the item is now fully set up in their systems and ready to be ordered, and, if not, what else needs to be done, or what to update on the item in order to get rid of the Review message, please? I will also reach out internally in the meantime to check if we have more details available than the ones in the Dot Foods Implementation Guides and will let you know once I find out more.

Thank you and have a great day as well.

Hi @Val_P ,

Thank you for so detailed answer.

I will check up with DOT Foods rep. and let you know.

It is not actually so urgent, as they do order the items published to them and it doesn't affect the ordering process. I am just trying to clean up all the "reviews" in our account, as there are quite a number of these... and DOT Foods have the most reviews tied with images...

Thanks!
