As you work to complete the QA process in IM to utilize the Kroger API, you could receive CIC responses letting you know areas that require your attention and correction per item. Here is one of the most common CICs and how to correct it in Item Management.
Marketing Message Error: Users will receive a CIC error describing some of these common issues that require an update:
- Recommended that product copy should be 1-3 sentences, with those sentences including 300-400 total characters about the product
- Use complete sentences in sentence case
- Ensure your description is unique and tells the customer the key benefits of your item.
- Avoid repetition within the Marketing Message and across the Marketing Message and Feature Benefits.
- The Marketing Message should be only about the individual product and not about the brand or manufacturer.
How to Resolve: To resolve this issue, review the Marketing Message values you provided for your item that received the CIC. As you work through corrections, please keep these in mind:
- The Marketing Message has to be about the individual product and not the brand. It cannot be the same info that is in the key features and benefits. Kroger is not looking for repetitive information. For example, some customers populated the same Marketing message on every product. That will not be accepted.
- Punctuation is not allowed in the Marketing Message. For numbers, anything with a numeric value of 9 and below is spelled out (i.e., nine instead of “9”), and numbers higher than 9 are numeric.
