Hello @CommunityJedi22 ,

We are getting reports from customer that struggle with the UOM for logisticsUnitCubeDimension: They cannot add see UOMs.

Shouldn't "Qual Valid Value List" for "logisticsUnitCubeDimension" be equal to VolumeUOM

Hello @Brian2 .Thank you for utilizing our customer community.

I have reviewed the attribute in question. The attribute that refers to the unit of measure (UOM) used for the volume is the "Qualifier Type," while the value measured using that UOM is represented by the "Qual Valid Value List".

Hi @Theo,

We understand that, but it’s strange that the “Qual Valid Value List” for “Logistical Unit Cube Dimension” is “DimensionsUOM” instead of “VolumeUOM”. “DimensionsUOM” doesn’t contain any volume units, which one would expect to find with the cube dimension attribute, am I right?

Best Regards,

Hello @miig and welcome to the customer community. Thanks for reaching out.

For the GDSN attribute logisticsUnitCubeDimension (BMS ID 5468), valid units of measure (UOM) are typically linear length codes rather than volume codes, as the attribute defines the dimensions of an imaginary cube around a unit load. While the attribute name includes "Cube," it is defined as the dimensions (linear measurements) of the cube. It is usually associated with an attribute qualifier (BMS ID 5469) to specify whether the value refers to depth, width, or height.

For a list of all accepted values in our systems, we can recommend exporting a FUSE Load Sheet with Valid Values set as Yes, please. We can also recommend checking the GDSN values at https://www.gs1.org/docs/gdsn/3.1/UOM_ByCat.xlsx (auto download will start once you click on the link).

I hope this helps. Thank you.

Hi @Val ,

Looking at the GDSN values spreadsheet I see that Recommended Measurement Unit Code for
logisticsUnitCubeDimension is Volume which I (and our clients) would also expect:

logisticsUnitCubeDimension Non GTIN Logistics Unit Information Module Volume 3.1.4

Hi, @miig,

The VolumeUOM should be the Qual Valid Value List in the IM Participant Dictionary. This is associated with the logisticsUnitCubeDimension field in our system.

The IM Participant Dictionary will be updated shortly. We apologize for the confusion.

Please do not hesitate to let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you
