The EZ Fill Template is the primary document used to capture all the product attributes required by Food Service for data loading. Please complete the template and return it to us so we can load your product data.
1. Customer Data Input Tab
This is where you enter the specific data for each item.
- Find the column labeled "GTIN 1" to enter your first item using the barcode printed on the consumer unit and front fill with two zeros to make a 14-digit GTIN 00123456789012 (where the UPC is 123456789012). For “GTIN 2,” this will be the corresponding Case GTIN. Every packaging level needs to have a GTIN in the spreadsheet.
- Go down the column and input the value for each attribute cell.
- Important Feature: Wherever you see a drop menu, select the value that applies to your item. For example, the Product Type attributes refer to the type of item we are loading.
Example: For the "Product Type" attribute, click on the drop-down menu in the corresponding cell to select the correct Product Type for your item, for example, Each, for the consumer unit. See below for an example of the drop-down menu.
2. Link Tab (Product Hierarchy)
Use this tab to define the relationship (hierarchy) between your items (e.g., case-to-inner pack or inner pack-to-each).
- Parent GTIN: Enter the GTIN of the larger/outer item (the 'Parent').
- Child GTIN: Enter the GTIN of the smaller/inner item (the 'Child').
- Quantity: Input the number of Child items contained within the Parent item.
3. Publication Tab (Data Distribution)
This tab tells us where and how to publish your product data.
- Product Hierarchy: Input the Parent item GTIN you wish to publish.
- Recipient GLN: Provide the Recipient's Global Location Number (GLN).
Note: If you do not have the Recipient GLN, please refer to the Recipient Landing and download the Implementation Guide for assistance.
- Publication Type: This defines how the data is sent to the Recipient. You must choose one of two options:
Initial Load: Use this for existing items that are already in the recipient’s database, and you are providing updated information.
NEW: Use this for a brand-new item that is being introduced to a recipient for the first time.
Key Reference: Always consult the Recipient Implementation Guide for detailed rules and further information specific to each recipient.
4. eComm, Nutrient Information, Allergens, and Ingredient tab
These tabs provide essential, product-specific details frequently requested by recipients.
- Purpose: These tabs capture required information such as eCommerce data, Nutrient Information, Allergens, and Ingredients for food products.
- Accuracy: Fill in the data in these tabs based exactly on what is claimed on the product packaging to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Recommendation: We strongly recommend populating these tabs, as the majority of recipients require this information for product listing and compliance.
Key Reference: Always consult the Recipient Implementation Guide for detailed rules and further information specific to each recipient.
