Please note this important upcoming change to our SSL certificate infrastructure that requires your prompt attention and action within the next 21 days.
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve platform reliability and enhance overall security initiatives, we are migrating away from DigiCert as our SSL certificate provider. Going forward, SSL certificates will be provisioned through our GCP-based Certificate Authority, WR1.
This change brings meaningful improvements:
To migrate your StoreSite custom domain into the automation cycle, a special DNS record must be created within your company's Web Hosting Provider. If your DNS is managed through a third-party registrar (such as GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, etc.), please ensure the appropriate person within your team has access to make this CNAME change in time.
Importantly, once the new CNAME record has been created within your DNS, SSL certificates will renew automatically going forward, with no manual intervention required on your part at any point thereafter as long as the new CNAME record remains in place.
IMPORTANT TIMELINE
If the new record is not in place prior to that date, your storefront will become inaccessible to customers and remain inaccessible until you take the necessary action to create the required CNAME record within your DNS.
This change is not one that can be taken care of by the ChannelOnline platform or COL Support Team; the responsibility to implement the necessary DNS update rests solely with each ChannelOnline customer.
ACTION REQUIRED
You must create a CNAME record within your custom domain's primary DNS zone. It must be in the same location as your current CNAME record for your ChannelOnline store.
DO NOT remove the existing CNAME record — the new CNAME record must be created in addition to that one.
Please find the UNIVERSAL CNAME record format below. It is intended to inform you of the proper way to customize the CNAME to your unique custom domain URL.
DO NOT COPY & PASTE the Name/Host and Value strings from the table below into your DNS without customizing them to your domain. THIS WILL NOT WORK.
You will replace everything within the brackets [ ] with the appropriate information requested within each bracket section. If you are unfamiliar with the terms within the CNAME format example shown below, please refer to this instructional article on The Anatomy of a URL.
Please use the table below as a reference for creating the CNAME record within your DNS with the 3 required fields: Type, Name/Host & Value
IMPORTANT: Ensure you are maintaining the format shown below & using the correct separators ( . or - ) in the correct positions within your record values.
