items discontinuation issues

Hello, Team.

Could you please clarify if something should be done when the item has already been discontinued but in Worklist there appeared Errors/Warnings after discontinuation process?

For example:

Error / Warning status

R01357 : Shipping Container Quantity Description is required.

Or

IM:62: WARNING: Please provide a recommended set of Search Key Words for Product (tradeItemKeyWords) for the product.;IM:59: Quantity of Next Level GTIN within Inner Pack and Inner Pack are both required if either is provided.

Thank you.

Hello @Kateryna and welcome to the customer community.  Please take a look at this post that discusses the discontinuation of items.  https://community.1worldsync.com/t5/IM-Knowledge/Discontinued-Date-Definitive-Thoughts-amp-Best-Prac...

As a best practice, once you discontinue the item you can remove the publications to fully break synchronization for that item before the Discontinued Date becomes current.

Thank you for advice.  It is helpful.

One more question: is in not a problem if i delete the publication after I have indicated the discontinuation date? Will it not affect anything?

The reason I ask,  is that I have a lot of discontinued items (I did it long ago) and it will take so long to remove the discontinuation date from each, then delete the publications, then discontinue again.

Appreciated for your responses.

Hello,

It is best practice to set the Discontinue Date for a date in the future followed by deleting all publications BEFORE the Discontinue Date. However, although the Discontinue Date has passed on the items all publications can still be removed without updating the Discontinue Date. The Discontinue Date simply unregisters the item from the Global Registry on that date so any recipient the item is still published to after the Discontinue Date has passed will no longer receive updates from this item. I've attached below a tutorial on "How to Delete" a publication.

Thanks!
