Receiving CIC message " Package Weight - Invalid Format Type" but cannot find where to change this o

Good afternoon,

I am receiving the CIC message " Package Weight - Invalid Format Type" but no matter what playlist I add I am not seeing this attribute anywhere.  The closest I can come is "Packaging Weight" which is asking for the weight of the packaging without the product.  Is this the attribute I should be updating?  I searched the entire IM Dictionary as well and this attribute "Package Weight" does not exist in that document either.

When I look at the attribute for "Packaging Weight" on the item in question it is blank and if I look at other items that are synched and accepted I also see this field as blank.

Please help!

Thank you,

Chad

Hello @foodingredients and welcome to the customer community.  Can you send me an example GTIN so I can take a closer look for you please?

We launched this new short video discussing how to utilize the community.  Please take a look:

Hello @foodingredients and thank you for those details.  I took a look on our end and the foodservice mapping guide for your recipient and that attribute does not appear.  Did they happen to provide you an IMplementation Guide that discusses the attributes they require?  If so, does it show the attribute "Packaging Weight" mapping to a valid GDSN attribute?

No they did not and again this is not isolated to just this recipient.  The recipients that are asking for this on this GTIN are Nicholas & Company Inc, Florida Food Service Inc, Unipro Foodservice Inc., BiRite Foodservice, Gordon Food Service and U.S. Foodservice Inc.

Thanks

Hello @foodingredients that is correct and those companies all use an external data pool.  As such, we share documentation between us that maps any attributes we need to their existing GDSN attribute name so we all talk apples to apples between parties.  For this attribute, I do not see it in our mapping guide so I wonder if there is a recent update they made for mapping "Packaging Weight" to a different GDSN attribute...

I am looking around on my end as well.

Hello, @foodingredients as promised we looked further for you.  We believe this is related to values you have for Gross Weight.  For Gross weight, we see items where you have 12 decimals. You should not go past 3 decimals. I think this will solve the issue

Great!  Thank you.  I will make the suggested change and let you know if that resolves the issue.

Good morning,

Your solution did resolve the issue but I would recommend that you have your team add a validation to that field to prevent more than 3 decimal places to avoid this issue in the future.

Thank you
