How to unregister GTINs in IM

We are trying to clean-up a hierarchy that is incorrect and unregister all GTINs in the hierarchy, so we can fix and re-register. Can you please provide the details on how to do this or provide the details from the IM Users Guide.  Is it also possible to delete the GTINs from IM and re-create again using the same GTINs but in the correct hierarchy order? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello @c2b30 and welcome back to the community.  If you have a hierarchy that requires you to update the GTINs, you do not have to un-register the items.  Based on the type of changes you make to the hierarchy you may have to first withdraw or delete the publications, wait 25 hours, update, and re-send.

We do have a process for removing items but in most cases, you do not have to do so.  Can you tell me more about why you believe the GTINs should be purged?  Do you have an example hierarchy I can look at?

The wrong EA GTIN has been applied to the hierarchy for SKU 173830-000180. We need to discontinue the wrong GTIN, add and register the new EA GTIN and correctly link it to the outer packaging GTINs (which are correct). In another example, SKU 850900-000120 contains 4 levels; however, we need it to contain 5 packaging levels and unfortunately the EA GTIN in IM should be the Inner Pack 2 level. See attachment. We were thinking about deleting the entire hierarchy and starting over. Please note that we use DSD as our UDI PIM System that sends data to 1WS IM.

hi c2b30

Regardless of the UI (IM or DSD),  Jedi's comments/steps are the correct course of action.  Withdraw/Delete Pubs, wait 25hrs, Unlink relevant relationships (if GTIN is being removed/exchanged), discontinue "old" GTIN (optional), establish correct relationship / quantities, publish.

Simply deleting GTINs from IM, especially if using DSD, will cause a host of issues.
