Hello,
We have an item that is both the Case and Each unit. However, when setting up this item, we had to create a “fake” 2 level hierarchy, where the Case is the “fake” level. Because this item has a UPC-A printed on it, we put the Data Carrier Type Code as “NO BARCODE” on the Case level. My question is this: if we provide "NO BARCODE" for the Data Carrier Type Code, what are we supposed to put for “GTIN for Point of Sale Type Code” (Trade Item Identification Key Code) and its GTIN, or is it acceptable to leave them blank? We have a customer saying they are required fields on the Case level in order for them to accept/ingest our data via GDSN.
Thanks!

Hello @WellsDataSync and thank you for continuing the use of the customer community. Welcome back.
If there is no actual barcode for the that hierarchy level, we would recommend leaving the fields blank. If however a recipient requires this as a mandatory information, you can choose GTIN 14 as the GTIN for Point of Sale Type Code and enter the 14-digit item GTIN for the GTIN for Point of Sale.
Please let us know if this helped or if there is anything else we may assist with and we would be delighted to. Thank you and have a wonderful day!
