When deleting a publication to a deactivated subscriber GLN, I receive the following error:
Publication DELETE for ... resulted in a validation error
~~201-Invalid subscriber GLN (...)~222-Publication does not exist to perform the DELETE operation
The issue is that because I'm not able to delete these publications, filtering items by "Published Items = Yes" results in false positives. Evidently, the publications to the deactivated GLN count as valid publications!
Is there a way I can remove the publication without running a DELETE operation?

My best estimate is my PIM system has approximately 266 items published in various combinations to the following 25 obsolete GLNs. I cannot submit an unpublish for them because I receive back errors that they are rejected or don't exist. It would be preferred if there is a phantom publication stored in 1WorldSync that the phantom gets removed and a successful unpublish message is returned to our PIM. This would keep 1WS clean and our PIM clean. There needs to be a reasonable process to recover when a customer suddenly withdraws a GLN. Thank you for your attention to this concern.

Hello @Food_Fiend and thank you for those details. I am escalating this and discussing it with our technology team and will get back to you with a Service Desk ticket once I get it created and escalated for you.

I am still looking into this to see if I can find a solution and have not yet. I recognize your note about a reasonable process for departing GLNs and would like to respond that GLNs being removed rather than moved from one data pool to another is rare. In this case, UNFI moved from over 30 GLNs to just one for publications. That project, over time, included updates asking customers to publish to the new GLNs instead of the older ones as they would be going away. The best practice is to delete the publications to these retiring GLNs before they are turned off.
I will talk to UNFI and our engineering teams about an idea I have but at least these types of GLNs moves to not occur often. Whew...

I completely understand what was supposed to happen. Unfortunately, I don't manage the publications but am just the tech guy who gets to clean up later. It is quite possible the department(s) responsible received notifications prior to removal but I will never know. I appreciate that you are looking for a solution.

👍 I totally understand. I am working on it and appreciate your patience.

Would you be able to check in on the ticket? The publications are still "up". I'm also not able to access or view the ticket in Jira, and my response to the initial email I received has been unanswered for about 4 business days now.

Hello, I am working with UNFI and our technology teams. After talking to them this week, we are evaluating if/how we can do this for customers that did not delete pubs to these GLNs before they were deactivated. This will likely be a project that will take quite some time and require support from our Dev teams and coordination with UNFI. I asked if we could complete it by the end of 2022 and we are seeing what we can do here to help you out.

Awesome, I will stay tuned. I really appreciate your coordination on this issue.

Of course, and like I said before, thanks for your patience...

May I piggyback on this thread to say that I too have Obsolete GLN's that do not show publications to anymore but when I update a GTIN it creates an error log on my end showing the item as rejected.
