Deleting Unpublished Items from IM

I am wondering about the process for deleting items that have not been published but are saved in IM. I found info on published items in the IM Board that has the GTIN Delete Template. Do I fill that out & send to tech support even though they are not published or is there something else?

Hello and thank you for reaching out to us.  Yes, we do have a process in place to remove GTINs in IM but it is important to understand that per GS1, even if we delete, you should not re-use those GTINs for other items whether they were published or not.  If you just want to manage your items and have stuff removed, we can delete GTINs for you.

In order for us to complete your GTIN purge request successfully, please make sure the following is true for each GTIN you need purged:

1)      Delete all publications of any hierarchies the GTINs are a part of.  1WorldSync is unable to process GTIN deletes for items that are actively published to trading partners.  Please note, GTIN delete transactions can commence 25 hours from the time the publication deletes are sent.

2)      Remove all images in Digital Asset Management for each GTIN.   1WorldSync is unable to process GTIN deletes for items with images in DAM.

3)      Fully and accurately complete the GTIN Purge Template and send to technicalsupport@1worldsync.com.  Each column must have the correct information for successful GTIN deletion:

  • Target Market should be correct
  • Information Provider should be the correct, full 13 digit number for the org asking for the purge
  • Ensure the GTINs in the spreadsheet are valid 14 digit GTINs

Once you submit the form, the Service Desk will work to purge your GTIN(s) from the Item Management application and then send the request to the Global Registry. Please note, we are setting your ticket request to close at end of business today.  When you are ready to submit your GTINs for deletion, please send your completed form to the 1WorldSync Service Desk at technicalsupport@1worldsync.com.

So to confirm, the process is the same for unpublished items as it is for published ones?

Yes, sorry I missed your follow-up question.  The process is the same except if not published, you would not have to delete any pubs.

Hi. Similar question (I think)...I want to remove all Not Published records for one country. We use the same GTINs for various published recipients/TMs, so I don't want to delete the GTINs, just get our Not Published down to true issues - is that possible?  There's no obvious button once I open the IM for Not Published. Thanks.

Hello @Marcy3250, welcome to the Community. As part of the template that you would send Technical Support you would give the Target Market, so only that instance of GTIN and Target Market would be removed from the system, leaving the other Target Markets untouched.

If you are looking at the dashboard in IM, looking at the actionable items where it says how many items are; draft state, Not published, published, etc. Click on the actual number under Not Published, this will bring up a list of not published items which you can then filter by Target Market on the Refine Search side bar.
