CASE - Hierachy information

We previously used 1worldsyn for Wegman and other vendors for a short period, during which we set up and published 34 items for these vendors.
This year, Amazon has required us to implement GDSN, so we imported all SKUs(about 250 SKUs) through API along with their case information.

The person who initially published to Wegman is no longer with the company, so I attempted to replicate the previous setup for the new items ( the API only transferred basic information ), but encountered an error.

The item was previously set up for CASE ;

The error message indicated that I needed to provide the "Count of This Specific Item in a Non-GTIN Logistic Unit/Non-GTIN Pallet Quantity," which had been left empty in the previous setup.

I entered the quantity per pallet, but I continued to receive an error message stating the following:

"For Country of Sale Code (targetMarketCountryCode) (US), if Irregularly Configured Non-GTIN Pallet Indicator (isNonGTINLogisticsUnitPackedIrregularly) equals "FALSE" or is not used, then Count of This Specific Item in a Non-GTIN Pallet (quantityOfTradeItemsPerPallet) must equal Number of Layers per Non-GTIN Pallet (quantityOfLayersPerPallet) multiplied by Number of Units per Layer in a Non-GTIN Pallet (quantityOfTradeItemsPerPalletLayer)."

To resolve this, I changed the "Number of Units per Layer in a Non-GTIN Pallet/Non-GTIN Pallet Ti" to match the quantity per layer. After saving these changes, it appears to be working.

Is this the correct way to set it up? I want to confirm before we update all new SKUs in this manner.

Additionally, I am curious about the purpose of the "Validate" button.

should I need to "validate" before publishing always?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello @LE and thanks for continuing the use the community. Welcome back.

The validation error for missing or incorrect Count of This Specific Item in a Non-GTIN Logistic Unit/Non-GTIN Pallet Quantity has been introduced more recently, therefore it was not coming up on older items entered in Item Management. The "Count of [...]" represents the nonGtin Ti multipled by the nonGTIN Hi and it must be added for all publication levels that are not Pallets, please. Your second screenshot has the Hierarchy Information correctly filled out.

Regarding the Validate button, it is designed to point out Errors/Warnings for the item. This is just a check for you and the validations performed do not do anything with the information (send it to retailers or publish it), but only show you if the item in its current state is ready to be saved and, potentially published. In Item Management we also have Playlists for both retailers (Wakefern and Wegman as examples) and categories (Food and Beverage Products) and, once a Playlist is added and you Validate, you are Validating the item for that specific retailer/ product category. For more details about adding and using Playlists, you can check 1WorldSync Playlists Video.

Hope this helps. We are here if there is anything else we may assist with, please. Thank you!
