Hello,
We are creating 2 hierarchies where one will have an Each item that will have a removable coupon sticker on it for about 6 months, and the second will have another Each of the exact same item but does NOT have the sticker on it. The Each item with the coupon is not "limited edition" nor printed on pack. We need to know where to ship each hierarchy, so we plan to create 2 Case items with different GTINs. My question is, would we need to create different GTINs/UPCs for the 2 Each items?
Hierarchy #1 --> Case: GTIN A --> Each w/ NO Coupon: GTIN 1
Hierarchy #2 --> Case: GTIN B --> Each WITH Coupon: GTIN 1 or 2?
Thanks!

@WellsDataSync Thank you for utilizing our customer community.
Based on the information you sent and the screenshot you presented I would agree that you can indeed use the same GTIN for the each and a different one for the package level(case).
At the same time, I would still advise you to confirm that with GS1 as they are the authority when it comes to the GTIN allocation rules and how GTIN's are assigned. Here is the contact information 937.435.3870 info@gs1us.org. Thank you.

Hello,
Welcome to the Community. If the hierarchies are the EXACT same except one will have a coupon and the other will not you technically only need one hierarchy and when the coupon expires access the item in Item Management and remove the coupon. Once the coupon is removed you'd simply republish it to the recipient and it would send over an item update/modify. However, if the recipient has requested two hierarchies to be created you would need to create a 14 digit GTIN to represent each individual "Each".
Thanks!

Hello,
The reason we are creating 2 hierarchies is because one trading partner will not accept the coupon on the Each, while all other Trading Partners want the coupon on the Each. The Eaches are the exact same item/product except one will have a removable coupon attached at time of production (coupon has an expiration date). We need to sell both with-coupon and without-coupon Eaches at the same time in the marketplace. Because of this, we know that the Case levels in each hierarchy need different GTINs for logistic reasons. The question is, can we use the same Each for both hierarchies and utilize a single GTIN?
When using the GS1 GTIN Management Decision-Support Tool, it indicates that we only need a new GTIN for the Case and NOT the Each (see attachment).
