Bulk renaming assets in Syndigo is a crucial process for maintaining organized and up-to-date asset metadata. This process ensures that all assets are accurately named, which is essential for efficient asset management, searchability, and overall data integrity. Here’s a step-by-step guide to bulk renaming assets in Syndigo:
- Log in to Syndigo.
- Navigate to the Assets tab.
- Ensure you are viewing 100 items per page.
- Download an excel file of the assets in question. Select one of two options:
- Select the checkbox at the top left of each asset list to select all on that page, click Next. Repeat step for each set of 100 until you’ve selected your products.
- Select only the checkboxes for specific assets that you want to update.
- Click Export to download an Asset Metadata Template. This may take a few minutes to generate.
- When export is ready, you will see your notification icon in the top right corner ping with a new notification.
- Click the downloaded .zip file.
- Open excel file.
- Begin a Find/Replace exercise to rename the assets in Column C, which is marked as Editable.
- Save excel file, once asset renaming is finished.
- Click Import Metadata.
- Select No to null existing metadata on existing assets.
- Selecting Yes will delete all current metadata values (Not Recommended).
- Click Import.
