Hello, Eileen_N.  I have not forgotten about your request I just do not yet have a solution.  Links can certainly;y be shared from the community but once sent to someone, they will have to have access to that area to open the link.  I will discuss this with Scott when he returns from vacation to see if he can send it to you directly.
