This article discusses how to validate Amazon ASINs in your Product Data. To learn more about the Share to Amazon feature, click hereIf you are using the Share to Amazon feature, you have the ability to validate that the ASIN values you are provided are working.

Validating ASINs Without Product Variants

If you do not utilize page_id_variants within your Product Data, you should pass your ASINs at the parent page_id level. This makes testing the Share to Amazon feature as easy as writing a test review for a product you know you are providing an ASIN for:

1. Go to the PDP of a product with an ASIN in the PowerReviews Product Data
2. Click the Write a Review (WAR) link
3. Fill out the WAR form and submit the test review
4. On the confirmation page, you should see a prompt to share your review on Amazon

5. Click the link to copy the Review to the clipboard and go to Amazon's form to ensure it takes you to Amazon. If this occurs, the ASIN provided to PowerReviews is a valid value.

There, you should be able to paste in the comments from your test review, fill in the rest of the form, and submit the review to Amazon. This is the same flow a customer interacting with your native WAR form will have.

Validating ASINs With Product Variants

If you utilize page_id_variants within your Product Data, you should pass an ASIN for each variation of your products. We recommend picking one of these ASIN values to also pass at the parent page_id level to ensure that native "fly-by" reviewers on your site also get prompted to share their review to Amazon; the Share to Amazon feature will otherwise likely only display for customers reviewing a product(s) directly from your Follow-Up Email solicitation (which uses page_id_variants).

If you are also passing an ASIN at the parent page_id level as recommended, you can use the instructions for Validating ASINs Without Product Variants above to test the Share to Amazon feature.

If you are only passing ASINs at the page_id_variant level, it is still possible to test Share to Amazon, but it will take an additional step to do so.

1. Go to the PDP of a product with an ASIN in the PowerReviews Product Data
2. Click the Write a Review (WAR) link
3. In the address bar of your browser, append the variant to the URL using &pr_page_id_variant=[variant_value]

Example:

https://ui.powerreviews.com/stable/standalone.4.0.html?pr_page_id=210334482441&pr_merchant_id=1917124082&pr_page_id_variant=2171513176073

4. Fill out the WAR form and submit the test review
5. On the confirmation page, you should see a prompt to share your review on Amazon

6. Click the link to copy Review to the clipboard and go to Amazon's form to ensure it takes you to Amazon. If this occurs, the ASIN provided to PowerReviews is a valid value.

There, you should be able to paste in the comments from your test review, fill in the rest of the form, and submit the review to Amazon. This is the same flow a customer interacting with your native WAR form will have.
