Target Attributes List
Each attribute is shown in the list as a ‘card’. The cards have two parts: attribute information and a mapping button. NOTE: Orphaned attributes cannot be mapped, so they will not have a mapping button.
Target Attribute Information: The attribute information provides a summary of the attribute details.
The attribute information includes:
- An icon that represents the format
- The name of the attribute
- An asterisk after the name that indicates the requiredness
- No asterisk - Optional
- Red – Required
- Yellow – Conditional or Recommended
- A tag with the recipient name (if there is more than one recipient, you will see the number of recipients instead)
- Category name if the attribute is in a category
- ‘Shared’ tag if it is a shared attribute (the attribute is also in the source attribute list)
Dynamic Righthand Panel
Begin on the righthand panel in the far-right section of the screen. The panel is dynamic; its contents update based on actions taken in the Source Attributes, Mapping Area, and Target Attributes columns of the page or options selected in the panel.
The Mapping Overview panel is the default view when no attributes or mappings have been selected.
Mapping Overview Panel
The Mapping Overview is the righthand panel view when no attribute or mapping is selected. The view has a header and 3 cards:
- Target Mapping Metrics
- Connection Lines
- Universal Mappings Suggestions
Target Mapping Metrics
This card provides metrics around target attribute mappings.
The header shows the total number of mappings. If a specific recipient is selected, the count reflects only that recipient. This count does not change based on searches or filters. Use the caret to collapse or expand the metrics card.
The card has 3 sections:
- Insights: This section provides insight into how much effort you have saved by mapping attributes. Based on how much mapping has been completed, you will see a message about your ‘attributes saved’ or a message encouraging you to continue mapping to increase your ‘attributes savings’.

- Orphaned Mappings: This section will only show if there are orphaned mappings. An orphaned mapping occurs when an attribute that has a mapping is no longer in a source data view or a recipient requirement set.

- Overview: This section gives an overview of the counts for mapped, shared, and unmapped target attributes.
- Target Attributes: Filter counts and attributes by requiredness. The default is All, or select Required, Conditional, or Optional. Counts and the Target Attributes list update based on the selected filter. Only one requiredness filter can be applied at a time.
- Mapped Attributes: Count of target attributes that have a universal or recipient specific mapping.
- Shared Attributes: Count of target attributes that are also in a source data view.
- Unmapped Attributes: Count of target attributes that are neither mapped nor shared.
Connection Lines
This card allows you to manage filters for mappings and show or hide map lines. Multiple filters can be applied. Collapse or expand the card by clicking the caret icon in the header.

- Show/Hide Toggle: The toggle next to the title allows you to show or hide mapping lines. When Show is selected, all mapping lines for all attributes are shown, until an attribute is selected, then only the mapping lines for the selected attribute are shown. When Hide is selected, no mapping lines are shown unless an attribute is selected, and then only the mapping lines for the selected attribute are shown.
- Untangle: Only enabled if mapping lines are shown. Click the icon next to the toggle to reorder the attributes to reduce crossing of mapping lines, making the mappings easier to see and follow.
- Connection Type: Filter by mapping type. Select one or more types. Unselect a filter option to remove it.
- Transformations: Filter by the type of transform applied to a mapping. Unselect a filter option to remove it.
- Enablements: Filter by mappings that are currently enabled or disabled. Unselect a filter option to remove it.
Mapping Settings
Click the first icon to open the Mapping Settings panel. This is where you will manage your Source Data Views, Target Recipients, and Categories used for mappings. The attributes in the data views, requirement sets, and categories will be available to use for mapping.
The Mapping Settings panel has a header and four cards:
- Source Data Views
- Target Recipients
- Source and Target Categories
- Default Locale Settings
Source Data Views
You can add, edit and remove data views. Make sure to click SAVE CHANGES in the upper right corner of the main page after you make any changes.
NOTE: PXM clients will see a read-only PIM Data View listed in the Existing Data Views list. Any changes to source data must be published through the exchange into the Syndication Platform.
Target Recipients
This card displays all Recipient connections you have linked to your account. The attributes in the requirements sets will appear in the Target Attributes list.
To add or remove available recipients or requirement sets, go to the Connections tab.

Source and Target Categories
This card lets you manage source and target categories. Relevant categories are added automatically, and you can manually add others by clicking Add Categories. Attributes from selected categories appear in the Source and/or Target Attributes lists based on taxonomy.
Default Locale Settings
Set default locale mappings for your account. These apply going forward and won’t change existing mappings, which can be adjusted individually if needed. You can manually change the locale mapping for an individual mapping which will override the default setting. See Mapping Details > Locale Settings.

Additional Actions
Click the ellipses icon to select an action from the list presented.

- Enable All Mappings: Click Enable All Mappings to enable any disabled mappings. Tip: To enable a single mapping, filter Connection Lines by Disabled, select a mapping, and toggle it to Enabled in the Mapping Details panel.
- Disable All Mappings: Click Disable All Mappings to disable all enabled mappings.
Tip: To disable one mapping, filter Connection Lines by Enabled, select a mapping, and toggle it to Disabled.
- Advanced Configurations: Use Advanced Configuration to create complex mappings and transformations. This opens the tool in the panel to create a new advanced mapping. This option is only visible if your account is permissioned for this feature.

Mapping Area Column
The Mapping Area is the area between the Source Attributes list and Target Attributes list.

The Mapping Mode selection and Mapping Key are found in this area. This is also where mapping lines will appear.
NOTE: If mappings are created and you don’t see mapping lines, click on an attribute to show just its mappings, or to see all mappings, switch the Hide/Show toggle on the Connections Lines card in the Mapping Overview panel to Show.
Mapping Key
Click MAPPING KEY to open the Mapping Key panel. This key helps you understand the icons and colors you see on attributes and mapping lines.

Universal Mapping Suggestions
Access Universal Mappings within the righthand panel. Our AI tool can suggest Universal mappings for your data using the selected Data View Source Attributes and Selected Recipients Target Attributes. For more steps on how to access, Generate, Approve or Reject suggested mappings review the How to Map article or click here to jump to a video.

Export Data Quality
Click Export Data Quality in the top right corner of the screen to download a spreadsheet containing your Mapped and or Unmapped Data. For Steps on how to Export Data Quality and help interpreting the spreadsheet reference the Export Data Quality article.
