GDSN Phased publication refers to allowing publication with only the GDSN Core attribute group passing validations for the initial publication. GDSN Core data is required to publish to recipients for product setup for speed to market. This is typically basic data that is needed for recipients to enable them to create items in their internal systems to be able to issue purchase orders. The full requirement set is divided into sections, and recipients expect all other sections to be published soon after Core was successfully published to the recipient.

Step 1: The GDSN core section will have to be at 100% prior to publishing. This has a checklist that will show any critical errors or required attributes.

  • Once this section is at 100% you will see a blue publish button on the bottom of the publication checklist. Any sections that are at 100% will be published along with the GDSN Core section.

Step 2: Each subsequent section will also have to be at 100% before the data within these sections will be made publishable.

  • As you complete the data within these sections they will show 100% to the right and the button on the bottom of the checklist will tell you how many sections are at 100% readiness for publication.

Note: You can choose to publish a product with only the initially required sections complete in Step 1. However, it is important to note that the recipient ultimately wants all required information between all sections in Step 2 to be sent to them. If you are looking to set up a product early with a recipient, you can publish a product once Step 1 is complete. After publication, the checklist will remain open on Step 2 until all sections are complete and published to the recipient. Once all sections are complete and published to the recipient, the checklist will be removed from the draft card until changes are made to the product that require republication.

The item will remain in CIC review status until all item data has been completed and published at 100% for all sections of the requirement set. You will then receive either a CIC Received status or Synchronized status.
