The following list of fields requires a temporary publication withdrawal prior to editing:
- Inserting or removing packaging levels in a hierarchy
- Changing packaging quantities within the parent child hierarchy
- Changing GTINs within a hierarchy
- Updating Information Owner GLN
- Updating Target Market
Note: When updating any other attributes on GDSN products within a hierarchy, you do NOT need to withdraw the publication before editing.
Editing Hierarchy Levels or Identifiers
- Select the highest hierarchy level item in the Product Index.
- Withdraw publication from all recipients (Temporary).
- Note: Anytime hierarchy or identifiers (GTINs) are being changed, withdraw is required.
- Update hierarchy/identifiers and any other pertinent information.
- Save Changes - This will populate all GDSN requirement sets linked to that item because GDSN attributes are shared.
- Note: If you require Overrides for certain recipients, they must be placed on all levels of the hierarchy if relevant (any changes made to the case level will NOT affect the single unit item).
- **WAIT AT LEAST 4-6 HOURS after withdrawing publication before re-publishing the updates to give the recipient time to process the Withdrawal.**
- Review Requirement Set for recipients.
- Verify all sections are completed.
- Send publication as New Item or Initial Load accordingly and Save Changes.
- Note: Not all GDSN retailers require this – when required, it will show as a ‘Req Not Populated’ error in the Case Level. This attribute is not shared and will need to be selected in each requirement set. Examples listed on bottom of page.
- New Item – NEW GTINS that the recipient does not already have in their system.
- Initial Load – The recipient already has this GTIN in their system.
- Publish.
