GDSN May 2025 Release Update - Carbon Footprint Attributes

GDSN received notice of an issue related to a new class of attributes for Carbon Footprint from 1WorldSync. The issue was a discrepancy around the repeatability of characteristics in the class between the BMS docs and the schema. As a result of the review, GDSN has determined the modeling of this class and its attributes is incorrect. The class will need to be remodeled to match what was being requested by the Italian market.

The changes will entail a secondary class inside the main class and renaming/changing the data type for one attribute. This will mean an update to the schema, BMS docs, and other release documents. GDSN stated the updated documentation will be posted by February 22, 2025.

1WorldSync has decided to hold off implementing these attributes in IM/PIM/Sync PDI until August 2025. This is based on the development efforts and cycles for our solutions, the amount of change being made, and the timing of updated documentation from GDSN. As a result, the May 2025 release documents will note this hold or not reference these attributes.
