Please see attached and post any questions you have for us in the comments below.
The received error message when the image requirements are missing: KRDAM16328 One Digital Asset or External File Link with Type of Information = “Product Image”, Image Source = “1WorldSync”, “Syndigo” or “Kwikee”, Image Facing = “Front”, Image Orientation Type Code = “No Plunge Angle” or left blank, and Image Background populated is required.
If there is no image because the packaging is not final, add an External File Link with Type of Information = “Product Image” and Image Source = “Product Final Packaging Not Available Yet”.
Please note, in the February 2023 release where GDSN added an attribute for Image Facing, which replaces the setup which has been used by Kroger. In the Kroger version, the valid values were words, Front, Left, FrontCentre, FrontLeft. GDSN changes these to be 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 to match the 17th position of the file naming convention.
The values for FrontCenter, FrontLeft, etc, now are split into 2 attributes: image facing as mentioned and image orientation type code. The orientation is the plunge angle for the image, Center, Left, Right, No Plunge (currently only “No Plunge Angle” or left blank are the only accepted options).
Current Kroger validation rules in PI do not allow for more than one image-facing selection per item. This means you can only submit one of the Image Facing orientations for each GTIN to Kroger. Since the attribute image facing only has the Front and not the Front Center, etc., some folks are getting errors that they have too many Front images. We are working to correct this quickly on our end.
The only workaround at the moment is to make sure there is only 1 image that has the following combination- Image Facing of "1" for "front" and Image Orientation Type code of "N" for "No Plunge" or is left null. The issue is Image orientation having both of these values. It needs to be only one of these for a Front image.
I have this error and not sure why. I only have 1 Front Image.
Hello @tging1,
After reviewing your images, the Image Orientation Type Code should be left BLANK.
Please update all images to ensure this attribute is blank. Then, save, validate, and submit.
hello,
I have this error and not sure why. There is no picture on the item.
Thank you for reaching out to our customer community. Welcome.
You are receiving that error as Kroger requires at least 1 image with those specifications in the error.
@CommunityJedi22, good morning!
I was wondering if I can have some clarification on how to proceed with images for Kroger to avoid any error messages.
I was told a while back that "No plunge angle" would be fine for the Image Orientation Code, however, this was causing an error message recently and was told in the Community to just leave it blank.
I've known about their requirement for one image facing "Front," but I noticed on their image requirements their statement about adding more images at our discretion. If I do add extra images, should I pick "Not applicable" for the image facing requirement?
I also noticed that we can now pick a number instead of text for the image facing requirements, but I don't see the numbers on the dropdown.
Thanks so much for your patience and guidance!
Hello Nancy!
Welcome back to the Community. When labeling images for Kroger "Not Applicable" should never be used. Although, the "Image Orientation Type Code" states it can be "BLANK" or "NO PLUNGE ANGLE" it should always be blank. You will not see the numbers in a dropdown. The numbers were added by the products team to create the order more easily, so the numbers essentially direct the backend. In Pre-Production, you'll see the numbers, however, in Production, you'll still see the facing as "Front", "Back", etc.
Thanks!
@BigBuford, thanks for the prompt response!
So, if I decide to add more than just the "Primary Image" as "Front," how should the extra images be labeled?
Thanks!
Hello @nancyVigo!
It's great chatting with you again. For the images facing only one image is allowed to be Front, and you can have one for Back, Left, Right, Top, or Bottom facing.
@George_C, thank you for the valuable information!
Have a great day!
@nancyVigo I updated the post after some healthy conversation on our end. Thanks for your valued patience and continued contributions to the success of our customer community:

Received this error message in VIP. I tried to fix my images, but doesn't seem to work. Can you let me know if there's something I can do to fix within VIP?

Hello @marisolburt,
Thanks for continuing the use of the community.
We do not see an issue with your right-facing image. The same fields that are provided for the other images with different facings have been listed for it, so we recommend reaching out to the Kroger Supplier Engagement Group at the phone number they provided in the Review message for information on what fields they need changed.
Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have additional questions.
Thank you
Hello, I'm wondering if I should not be publishing images at the Each AND Case level for my items in 1WS. I'm getting the following error:
Error / Warning status
Error is 00071279302508: KRO:164: Uniform Resource Identifier is required when Consumer Unit Indicator is True and Digital Asset Type Code equals Product Image;
Please note: Subsequent synchronizations will be suppressed until action is taken by the Information Provider to modify or correct the error.
Good morning @AJ and thank you for continuing the use of the customer community and for the follow-up question.
Depending on the retailer, they will have different image requirements. For Kroger for example, it is mandatory to add at least one product image on the consumer unit level (usually the Each) of your hierarchies. The image(s) also need to follow specific requirements which are detailed in the first post of this topic.
Specifically for item, the link added in the Uniform Resource Identifier field is not an image link, but a link to the product page. This link should lead directly to the - in this instance - JPEG image of the product instead, please.
I hope this helps. Thanks!
Please assist. I have never seen this error before and I really need to get this item resolved before I lose the shelf space. When I search the Production facility it's flagged by Electronics and this is a Produce item.
Greatly appreciate your help with this error.
Hello @AJ, thanks for continuing the use the community.
The referenced error means that the item is either not registered or not registered correctly in the Kroger Supplier Hub. We can suggest you to contact the referenced phone number and check the setup with the Supplier Engagement Group (SEG) team (844 277 6165 Opt 1 if calling from the US or +011 513-387-1140 Opt 1 if calling from abroad). Thank you.
Thanks @Val_P I'm learning a while new aspect to the supply setup, no idea there was a separate Supplier Hub and that a setup needed to happen there before 1WS data could be accepted.
