What are RDD attributes and how do they work?

RDD attributes are recipient-specific attributes that help information providers synchronize different content values for the same item and attribute across different trading partners.

You can see all of the RDD attributes by applying a filter in the IM Participant Dictionary (IMPD).  Open the IMPD and click on the "IM Participant Dictionary" tab at the bottom.  Scroll right to Column U titled "Relationship Dependent Data (RDD) (Y/N)."  Apply the filter to see all attributes with "Y" or "Y*" for this attribute.

One unique concept for RDD attributes is their ongoing management. Each new RDD variation for your GTIN is unique. Updates to one RDD variation (i.e., Kroger, etc) will not flow to other unique variations, including the "ALL." This means if you want to make an update that would apply to all versions of your GTIN for an attribute, you would add it to the appropriate RDD versions of the GTIN as well.

For example, if you have RDD variations for a GTIN to Kroger, you could see something like this in your GTIN:
Version 1: All
Version 2: Kroger API Certification Queue GLN 0838016000123
Version 3: Certified Items for Kroger API GLN 0838016000116
Version 4: (or more): Any other Recipient

In this example, if you make an update to the "ALL" variation, that update will not apply to the other versions. You would have to apply it to all versions as needed.

RDD Attributes for DAM Images

In Item Management, you have a few different ways to differentiate value versions of your GTIN image.  In IM, if you click on the Image Metadata for your image, you will land on a page including this section "Shared With."

In the "Shared With" field, you can select one of the options: All, Nobody, Recipients, and Excluding.  Your selection will drive how the image is shared when you publish.

All: Your images will be sent to all trading partners without exclusion when you publish to them.

Nobody: Your image will not be sent to any trading partners when you publish to them.

Recipients: When you select this option, you can add the recipient GLNs to which you want to send this image when you publish the image.

Excluding: When you select this option, you can add the recipient GLNs to which you want to exclude when you publish this image.

Example: One example for Kroger API, if you have images you want to just send to Kroger and not other recipients, you can choose the Recipients option and add the Kroger GLNs:

Kroger API Certification Queue GLN 0838016000123

Certified Items for Kroger API GLN 0838016000116
