The Image Shadowing functionality helps Kroger GDSN suppliers meet Kroger’s image hosting requirements as an additional feature under the Supplier’s current subscription for data sync and the 1WS DAM solution.  It is intended for suppliers who are not hosting their images in one of Kroger’s authorized hosting locations.  The functionality results in the Supplier’s images automatically being transferred to and hosted in 1WS Kroger VIP DAM.  These Shadowed Images will be delivered to Kroger with the submission of the Supplier’s item data.

To use this functionality, Suppliers are required to create an External File Link (EFL) row in the message to Kroger.  When the item is published to Kroger’s GLN, it is directed to VIP.  When an EFL without a declared hosting location (Source = Blank) for an enabled GLN arrives in VIP, a copy or “Shadow” of the image is retrieved and hosted in VIP by 1WS.

For Shadowing to work correctly, Image Source CANNOT be populated as it must be blank.  In IM, the customer should leave "Image Source" blank and only populated Image Facing and Image Background as that is correct for Image Shadowing to work.

Customers can request access to the Image Shadowing Functionality by completing the Image Shadowing Form and sending to 1WS via the instructions on the form.
