Please see below for the attributes required to provide content images with External File Links (EFL) outside of using DAM and Shadowing.  Please note, you can learn more about DAM HERE.

Minimal Attributes for External File Link

  • Digital Asset Type Code - Valid value for the type of digital asset that is being referenced. Used to identify the type of digital asset that is being referenced.
  • Digital Asset Start Date/Time - The date/time on which the digital asset can be used.  Used by the seller to communicate to the buyer when the digital asset can be used and shown to the consumer.
  • File Format Name - The name of the file format. Examples: PDF; JPEG; BMP. The fileFormatName must be present if the uniformResourceIdentifier is entered.
  • Digital Asset File Name - The file name of the digital asset, for images according to the GS1 Product Image Specification Standard. Used to identify the name and intent of the digital asset. Provide a unique name based on GS1 specifications. If the file contains an extension it must be included in the file name.
  • Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) - The Uniform Resource Locator (URL) for a digital asset, such as a high-resolution product image, which is related to the product. Used by the seller to provide images/documents to the buyer via a link to the asset about the product. Used to provide the image of the product to the consumer. Used by the buyer to verify the authenticity of the product content. A simple text string that refers to a resource on the internet, URLs may refer to documents, resources, people, etc.
  • Image Source - Where's your asset being hosted? Don't see the location you're looking for? Just leave it blank (Drop Down Options = 1WS, Kwikee, Product Final Packaging Not Available Yet, Syndigo (formerly Gladson).
  • Image Facing - Indicates the facing of an image. (Drop Down Options = Back, Bottom, Front, Front with  partial left view, Front with partial right view, Front with partial top view, Left, Right, Top).
  • Image Background - Indicates the background composition of an image. (Drop Down Options = Other, Transparent, White).
  • Digital Asset Primary Indicator - The indicator designating the primary digital asset to be used. Used by the seller to communicate to the buyer the primary digital asset to be used for display to the consumer.
  • Shared With - When blank, you’re sharing with everyone! (Well, anyone this item is syncing with...) Or you can specify which trading partners to share with

Recommended Values for EFL

  • Digital Asset End Date/Time - The date/time on which the digital asset can no longer be used.  Used by the seller to communicate to the buyer when the digital asset can no longer be used.
  • Alternate Text - Detailed information pertaining to the image and the context for someone who is partially or fully visually impaired or blind.
  • Title Text - The text entered in the title tag is displayed in a popup when a user takes their mouse over to an image. The title attribute is shown along with the image, typically as a hover tooltip.
  • File Sequence Number - The order based upon the referencefileTypeCode the files should be used. Examples a 360-degree image, the images need to be ordered, or a safety data sheet where each file is 1 page and should be ordered accordingly.
  • File Pixel Height - The number of pixels along the vertical axis of the image.
  • File Pixel Width - The number of pixels along the horizontal axis of the image.
  • File Size - The size of the referenced file.
  • Is File Background Transparent - An indicator of whether the background used in the file is transparent. Having a transparent background would allow a recipient to place the file into any setting necessary.
