Use of the component attributes allows you to describe all products in a packaging hierarchy when the parent item contains child items that are not sold separately and, often, are not marked with consumer-level barcodes.
In order to resolve this common error message in IM (2314, 2310, 2309), please see below:
Common Attributes for Component Requirements:
Contents Description - Describes the contents of the components of the trade item when an item is shipped in multiple containers.
Non Marked Trade Item Components - This attribute indicates a non-saleable part of the trade item. It is used to specify components of a trade item that cannot be sold separately.
No. of pieces in Set - The total number of separately packaged components comprising a single trade item.
Total no. of components - The total number of components for the trade item.
Multiple Container Quantity - The quantity of containers when the complete trade item is packed in multiple containers. If all components are packed together into one item this attribute is not used. For example: 3 boxes = 1st box has 1 table, 2 more boxes with 2 chairs each, this attribute would contain the value 3, representing 3 boxes total.
Component Number - Indicate a sequence number of a component of a trade item.
Component Description - A description of the component.
Component Quantity - An attribute used to describe the quantity of components described in either the componentIdentification or componentDescription.
Component Identification - Component Identification
